The difference between carbon crystal and carbon fiber, comparison of advantages and disadvantages

To be honest, there is no such material as carbon crystal in the world, and there is no such name in technical terms. Carbon crystal is just a name used by the manufacturer for product promotion purposes. It is subdivided into two categories, namely translucent ink electric heating film and carbon fiber electric heating film. In the national electric floor heating technical information and industry standards, there is currently no such thing as carbon crystal floor heating. However, due to the publicity of some manufacturers, carbon crystal floor heating often appears in some media, so the author believes that it is necessary to make a difference between carbon fiber floor heating and carbon crystal floor heating.

First of all, the heating element materials are different: the heating element of the carbon fiber electric heating film uses carbon fiber as the conductor material. It is a new electrical, thermal and mechanical material that is stronger than steel, less dense than aluminum, more corrosion-resistant than stainless steel, more resistant to high temperatures than heat-resistant steel, and can conduct electricity like copper. Products are widely used in aerospace, sports equipment, and medical equipment. Carbon crystal, simply put, a carbon crystal product is a plate made of carbon particles as conductive material and added with adhesive. The production of this kind of product does not require any high-end technology or patents. It is for this reason that more than a dozen domestic manufacturers have emerged overnight.

Secondly, the production materials are different, so the production processes are different, and the shapes and thicknesses of the products are also different. Due to the fundamental difference in heating element materials, carbon crystal cannot produce products as lightweight as carbon fiber electric heating films. Carbon crystal is a plate-shaped product. The plate is about 8mm thick. It is large in size (40*90, 60*90, 60*280㎝) and heavy in weight. It is inconvenient for transportation and construction, and it also increases the cost in the user’s home. Floor load. The thickness of carbon fiber electric heating film is less than 1mm, which is as light and thin as a piece of paper. Transportation and installation are convenient and quick. Carbon fiber electric heating film products are currently not produced in China, and only South Korea can produce them internationally. Carbon fiber electric heating film occupies about 70% of the market share in South Korea. Although the carbon fiber electric heating film is light and thin, the product has a high technical content and is extremely safe and stable. The product sells well in 16 countries and regions.

The number of joints in a product is directly proportional to the safety of the system: Since carbon crystal is a block product, a product only has one joint. The more joints, the more potential safety hazards. As for how many knots there will be when installing carbon crystal products in a user's home, the normal ratio is calculated based on the user's room area. Calculate the required number of blocks in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. In other words, a 40-square-meter living room has 40 to 80 joints, which means an additional 40 to 80 potential safety hazards! Since carbon fiber electric heating film products are rolled, the larger the room, the fewer the number of joints than the carbon crystal joints in the same area. In the same living room of 40 square meters, the carbon fiber electric heating film only has 4-6 joints. The safety of the product is greatly improved.

The size of the gap between the heating elements: Since the carbon crystal is a massive object, there is a large gap between each plate. They are installed at a distance of ≦20cm. Since there are large gaps around each board, there will be a relatively obvious temperature difference, which is very uncomfortable to use. The electric heating film is a long strip-shaped heating element that is heated evenly. The gap between each film is only 3cm, so there will be no uneven heating and cooling.

There are many single-chip power specifications of the product, which can easily lead to uneven heating of the ground: Since the paving of carbon crystal plates is limited by the minimum size, uneven heating will occur. For example: the previous board is still 333w/square, and the next one is 185w/square. The difference between the two is 150w/square. There will be obvious uneven heating, which will not only make your feet feel uncomfortable, but also affect the decorative materials on the ground. However, this situation does not exist with carbon fiber electric heating film. Its ground material is heated relatively evenly, feels good underfoot, and has no impact on the ground decoration materials.

Carbon fiber electric heating film products have a long history of decades, accounting for about 70% of the market in South Korea. The products are sold well in many countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, and Russia, and have passed multiple international certifications. Carbon crystal products are by-products produced in the process of manufacturing carbon fibers. They have low technical content and a short history of use.

And because there is no technical content, dozens of large and small production plants have popped up in the country in more than a year.

There is a big price difference between the two: carbon crystals are sold in pieces, ranging from 280 to 320 yuan per piece. Toner powder and adhesive are sold at this price, which is a huge profit.

Although the process of carbon fiber electric heating film is complicated, its price per square meter of heating area is relatively lower than that of carbon fiber heating film, making it a very cost-effective product.
