News|Chang'an fiber-aluminum alloy hybrid structure body trial production successful, bicycle weight reduced by 200kg

Recently, Changan Automobile successfully completed the trial production of the first carbon fiber-aluminum alloy hybrid structure body. It is reported that Changan Automobile integrated global superior resources and took four years to complete the project with the cooperation of relevant policies and all parties.

The research on this project successfully achieved the goal of reducing the total weight of the body and chassis by no less than 30% and 200kg compared with the same level of vehicles. The power consumption per 100 kilometers can be reduced by 0.5-0.6kWh. It will also achieve the CN-CAP five-star collision requirements for the carbon fiber body for the first time.

Specifically, the results of the project include 1. Realizing a new architecture of carbon fiber body pure electric car platform technology. 2. Realize the integrated application technology of carbon fiber materials-body modular design-efficient forming. 3. Realize the CAE analysis and evaluation method of carbon fiber body pure electric cars. 4. Realize the technology to control the performance degradation of the forming and welding of key components of aluminum alloy frames. 5. Realize multi-performance index test and evaluation technology for carbon fiber body pure electric cars. 6. Applied a number of patents and trained a large number of relevant talents.

According to Changan Automobile personnel, the research results of this special project will also radiate to other related fields such as rail transportation, energy, petrochemical industry, construction, and ships, and will drive social and economic benefits of nearly one trillion yuan.
