The college has successively undertaken a number of national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects such as the 973 Project, the 863 Project, major key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, National Science and Technology Support Plan projects, key international cooperation projects, and national defense and military industry projects. A number of high-level academic papers have been published in important international academic journals. In the past 10 years, more than 260 SCI/EI papers have been published annually. In the past 5 years, more than 30 authorized invention patents have been obtained annually. The college has always adhered to the concept of closely integrating basic research with engineering practice, and has undertaken and completed a number of school-enterprise and school-site cooperation projects. Many scientific research results have achieved transformation and industrialization, resulting in significant economic and social benefits. In order to promote It has made outstanding contributions to national and local economic construction and development as well as industry technological progress. Since the National Science Conference in 1978, the college has won 28 National Science Conference Awards, National Technology Invention Awards, National Science and Technology Progress Awards and National Spark Awards, and won 29 first prizes for provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievements.
In 2018, in the latest subject ranking data released by the U.S. ESI (Essential Science Indicators) basic science indicator database, the ESI global ranking of our school’s Materials Science discipline entered 1‰, marking that our school’s materials science Scientific disciplines have entered the ranks of world-class disciplines.
The college has strong teaching staff and rich experience in teaching and scientific research. There are currently 173 faculty members, including 118 full-time teachers, 59 professors, 44 associate professors, and 63 doctoral supervisors. Among the full-time teachers, 88.4 have a doctorate degree, 27 have overseas doctorates, and 85.7 have senior professional titles. More than 80% of the teachers have overseas study and further study experience. The college has 59 high-level talents/teams of various types at the national, provincial and ministerial levels or above.
To date, the college has trained more than 16,000 graduates of various types. The college currently has more than 1,800 students.
