Extension: Potassium oxalate is an organic potassium salt with the molecular formula of K2C2O4. The properties are similar to those of hydrate. The saturated solution is weakly alkaline. It is highly corrosive, and eating it by mistake will cause digestive tract congestion and erosion. Potassium oxalate monohydrate is obtained by putting potassium carbonate into hot oxalic acid solution until the solution is weakly alkaline to phenolphthalein, and then heating to 16℃ for dehydration to become opaque. It can be used as analytical reagent to prevent blood coagulation, and also used in pharmaceutical industry and film printing.
preparation method: it is prepared by the reaction of potassium carbonate and oxalic acid.
application fields: used for making medicines and bleaching straw hats; Also used as chemical reagent and fabric detergent; Anticoagulant for venous blood vessel samples.
