The so-called painting refers to covering the metal and nonmetal surfaces with protective layers or decorative layers. The assembly workshop is mainly composed of PBS line, interior assembly line, chassis assembly line, assembly line, sub-assembly line (door, powertrain, dashboard, front-end module, tires) and vehicle inspection line.

Highlights of technology and equipment:
① Automatic spraying robot: The inner and outer surfaces of the paint line in the painting workshop are all sprayed by robots.
(2) Dry paint mist separation system: under the action of circulating air in the painting room, the overspray generated in the spraying process is sucked into the aggregate tank and adsorbed with flying limestone powder.
In the painting workshop, FAW-Volkswagen adopted the leading 20 10 waterborne intermediate-free painting process, which was scientific and environmentally friendly, and practiced the concept of building a green factory while improving efficiency.
The workshop also has the world's most advanced environmental protection design and dry water curtain paint water separation technology. Dry water curtain paint-water separation technology uses lime powder to absorb paint mist, without water and paint mist treatment agent, which is clean and environmentally friendly, saving up to 90% water and saving 2600 tons of water every year. The used lime powder can be used as raw material for cement industry without wasting resources.
In the painting workshop, all the key parts such as spraying the inner surface of the car body and wiping the car body are operated by robots, and the automation rate reaches 100%, which ensures the uniformity and smoothness of the paint film. Excellent technology has brought a smooth and perfect paint surface, and the body lines have been perfectly displayed.

Highlights of technology and equipment:
① Powertrain line: use AGV and modular pallet to carry the engine and gearbox, and install and tighten the automobile semi-axle and suspension.
② Friction conveying line: The assembly workshop adopts friction conveying technology to convey the car body, doors, instruments, front end and chassis, and collects data in the whole process.
③ Four-wheel positioning headlight adjustment detector: German DURR vehicle test bench is adopted to accurately detect and adjust the toe-in and camber of the vehicle, and strictly check and adjust the position and light intensity of the headlights.
The assembly workshop adopts advanced H-shaped planning layout, which shortens the logistics distance and makes the extension of production line more flexible. The workshop adopts advanced electromagnetic drive self-suspension spreader, adaptive lifting skid technology and automatic vehicle assembly and tightening technology, which can realize multi-platform and multi-module flexible production.
According to the engineer, not only is the tightening of each screw automatically controlled by the computer, but also the tightening data of each car will be stored in the database for 15 years.
FAW-Volkswagen guarantees that the production data and quality information of each vehicle are well documented, and the quality management is completely informationized. The brand-new sagitar is also the first car in the third car factory to use this latest quality management system. At the same time, the assembly workshop also uses advanced quality inspection equipment such as laser three-dimensional wheel positioning for vehicle inspection, dynamic high-speed wheel hub rotation experiment, UPS vehicle electrical inspection and so on.
