The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was established in 2001. It is composed of the Automation Department and the Mechanical Department of the former Engineering College. It currently has three undergraduate majors: Automation, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, and Electrical Engineering and Automation. Among them, Automation Majors, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation majors are brand-building majors in Beijing, and automation majors are national-level specialty construction majors.
Laboratories: The college currently has scientific research departments such as the Beijing Key Laboratory of Fieldbus Technology and Automation, the Power Electronics and Electrical Transmission Engineering Center, the Engineering Training Center, and the Mechanical Processing Experiment Center. It mainly provides scientific research and development cooperation to the society and provides experimental bases for undergraduate and graduate students.
Scientific research team: The college currently has an intelligent transportation innovation team led by Vice President Li Zhengxi, a top-notch scientific research team led by Vice President Luo Ke, a network automation innovation team led by Dean Sun Dehui, and a green power supply team led by Professor Zhang Weiping Top-notch talented scientific research team. The college currently has 16 professors and 42 teachers with doctorate degrees.
Scientific research achievements: The college has obtained numerous scientific research achievements in the past five years. The intelligent transportation team won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2006, 15 other provincial and ministerial awards, 4 invention patents, and 12 utility model patents. 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 4 863 projects, published nearly 100 scientific research EI and SCI indexed papers, and cooperated with many enterprises and institutions on more than 50 horizontal projects, with an average annual scientific research funding of more than 8 million yuan.
