SCOT method is a Scott method developed by Dutch Shell Company. Its principle is that sulfur dioxide, organic sulfide and sulfur vapor in Claus tail gas are catalytically converted into hydrogen sulfide on Co-Mo catalyst, and then hydrogen sulfide is recovered by desulfurization solvent, and then returned to Claus plant after regeneration. After such treatment, the residual sulfur content in the tail gas is very low and can be directly discharged into the atmosphere, so the Scott method has been increasing in recent years. The first Scott industrial factory was put into operation in 1973, and nearly 200 factories have been put into operation so far. China introduced this patented technology.
