How to apply for a patent in microbiology? Is it a new strain that needs to be preserved first?

The business scope of strain preservation of strain preservation institutions is different, and the preservation methods of different patented microorganisms are also different, so each strain preservation institution has formulated different preservation methods.

At present, China Center for Type Culture Collection (CCTCC) has the following requirements for the registration of patented biological materials:

Bacteria, actinomycetes, yeast, filamentous fungi,

Ordinary microorganisms, such as higher fungi and unicellular algae, are preferably dried in vacuum by freeze-drying tubes, each with 10 tube; Under special conditions, inclined surfaces are also acceptable. CCTCC requires the depositor to inoculate microbial strains on the inclined plane of 18X 180 standard test tube (each strain needs 4 inclined plane test tubes), and the strains will form typical colonies or grow to logarithmic growth period, and send them by express mail or face to face.

Animal (plant) cells, viruses, plant tissue culture, etc. Give priority to receiving cryogenic freezing pipes, each 10 pipe; If it is a virus that can be preserved by vacuum freeze-drying, a freeze-drying tube for vacuum freeze-drying is preferred.

When the cryogenic freezing pipe arrives at CCTCC, it needs to be sent with dry ice insulation agent to ensure its vitality.

Plant seeds need to be sent to CCTCC at a suitable temperature.

If special and uncommon media or reagents are needed in the cultivation or survival test of patented biomaterials, please inform CCTCC in advance to make an appointment or send samples to CCTCC to speed up the test.

The registration form of microbial strains in the collection center shall be submitted together with microbial strains.

After the strain is submitted, the preservation center will carry out activity detection on the strain and issue a strain preservation certificate.
