SCI is published six times a year, with six volumes of A, B, C, D, E and F in each issue. SCI citation index consists of four parts: author citation index, group author citation index, anonymous citation index and patent citation index.
Author citation index (citation index: author)
The index is arranged according to the author's surname and first name, and the citation of an author's literature can be found.
Citation index can find out who cited an author's article and how many people cited several articles, and count the frequency of each article cited, which can be used to evaluate the academic level of researchers and the quality of an article.
Through the citation relationship between papers, we can understand the research trends and progress of peers. Through citation index, you can also do circular retrieval, that is, take the cited author as the cited author, so that you can find more updated related documents.
(b) Patent citation index: patents)
If the citation is a patent document, it will be included in the patent author citation index. The index is arranged according to the number of patent numbers, and it is used to find the literature citing a patent and understand the new application and improvement of the patent.
At the same time, we can know the number of times the patent is cited, so as to evaluate the value of the patent.
Anonymous reference index (reference index: anonymous)
Some documents, such as editorial articles, comments, corrections, newsletters, meeting documents, etc. , can also be cited as quotations. Because there is no author's name, these cited documents are compiled into anonymous citation index.
According to the alphabetical order of the cited publications, the publications with the same name are arranged according to the publication year and volume number.
(4) Citation index (company author index)
Take the name of the first organization that collected the cited documents in the current period as the retrieval target, and provide the information of when and where the articles published by this organization were cited from the known organization names.
