Facel was originally founded by French military aviation subcontracting company Bronzavia in 1939. During World War II, Facel focused on the manufacture of aircraft parts. Its name is the abbreviation of forges et ateliers de constructions d 'eure-et-loir. Facel transformation automobile production is related to an important person, that is, Jean Daninos. Jean started his career at Citroen, and then worked as technical director in Bronzavia at 1937. During World War II, Jean went to American General Aircraft because GM adopted some patents of Bronzavia. With the end of the war, Jean returned to Faesser in charge of 1945. In the same year, Facel merged with Metallon to manufacture automobile bodies for some French and American automobile companies. By the way, Facel is good at patents, aluminum alloy stamping technology, and integrated molding of aircraft and automobile bodies. No wonder Facel tried to transform the automobile body manufacturing after the war. Facel has produced alloy parts for many famous brands before launching its own brand, such as Ford, Simca, Vespa, Piaggio and so on. 1954, Facel introduced a luxury sports car against Bentley, which adopted the American Chrysler V8 engine. After several years of technical deduction, Facel Vega II, the company's peak work, was launched on 1962, equipped with Chrysler 6.3/6.7-liter V8 engine, with faster speed, more fashionable body design, more atmosphere and smoother lines, especially the front face. Now Facel is on the verge of bankruptcy, and the second generation of FV is also the last time the company tries luxury GT sports car.
