Most plastics are high molecular polymers, which are polymerized from by-products extracted from fossil raw materials such as petroleum. Thermoplastics, such as polyolefin synthetic resin, are direct products of petrochemical industry. The so-called polyolefin plastics are all kinds of plastics with olefins as monomers. The main varieties are polyethylene and polypropylene. Polyethylene plastic has a smooth surface, feels like paraffin, and its composition is similar to paraffin, so it is corrosion resistant. The material of plastic soft packaging is basically the base material processed by the by-products after petroleum refining. Such as BOPP, CPP, CPE, IPE, LDPE, PET, PP, NY, toluene, ink, glue and other materials are closely related to petroleum.
Generally speaking, it is non-toxic if other chemicals are not added. Although polypropylene is non-toxic, plasticizer and masterbatch are toxic to some extent.
