Do you need a titanium basket for silver plating?
Silver plating requires the use of titanium baskets. Carbon disulfide is the earliest brightener for silver plating, which was put forward by Milword and Lyons in the patent published in 1847. It is still in use today, but it is slightly modified. Silver plating is much cheaper than gold plating, and it has high conductivity, light reflectivity and chemical stability to organic acids and alkalis, so it is widely used than gold plating.
