Hunan University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as Hunan University of Technology) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning sponsored by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and headed by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. Is the first member in China to be accepted by the International Packaging Association (IAPRI).
It is the governing unit of the Packaging Education Committee of China Packaging Federation, the only vice-president unit of China Packaging Federation, and the China Packaging Technology Training Center. The school is located in Zhuzhou City.

The predecessor of Hunan University of Technology was Zhuzhou Normal School founded by 1958, Zhuzhou Institute of Technology founded by 1979, and 1985 was renamed Zhuzhou University. China Institute of Packaging Engineering was founded in 1987, and 1989 was named Zhuzhou Institute of Technology. In 2006, it was renamed Hunan University of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The Global Joint Research Center for Low-carbon Cities, jointly established by our university and China Academy of Social Sciences, has completed the ranking of low-carbon cities in China through the investigation of nearly 100 cities in China, and has jointly published the Green Paper on the Development of Low-carbon Cities in China every year from 20 1 1.
