Is there a carcinogen in the swab of nucleic acid?

The cotton swab used for nucleic acid has no carcinogen. There is no scientific basis for the claim that throat swab causes cancer, and throat swab does not cause cancer. At present, the theory about carcinogenesis of throat swab is that it is suspected that throat swab contains ethylene oxide, which is carcinogenic. In fact, throat swabs do not contain ethylene oxide. Ethylene oxide is just a kind of gas used for disinfection, which can disinfect the surface of medical supplies. Ethylene oxide is not a component of the swab.

Nucleic acid cotton swab material

It is mainly composed of nylon short fiber pile head and medical-grade ABS plastic rod. The sampling cotton swab adopts the method of spraying and electrostatic flocking, so that millions of nylon microfibers are vertically and evenly attached to the handle end. The flocking process will not produce toxic substances, and the flocking mode will make nylon fiber bundles form capillary action, which is beneficial to the strong hydraulic absorption of liquid samples. Compared with the traditional winding fiber swab, flocking swab can keep microbial samples on the fiber surface, which is easy to improve the sensitivity of detection.
