The earliest car was successfully trial-produced in Changchun No. 1 Automobile Manufacturing Plant on July 13, 1956. The Minsheng brand automobile was produced in 1928. In December 1928, the Northeast changed its flag and the North and the South became peaceful. The suggestion put forward by Li Yichun, director of the Fengtian Mortar Factory and others, that "in response to domestic needs, we should first manufacture heavy-duty trucks" was approved by General Zhang Xueliang, so the Fengtian Mortar Factory was changed to the Liaoning Mortar Factory, with civilian supplies attached. The Industrial Manufacturing Department mainly produces household appliances, automobile interior materials and various leathers. In February 1929, General Zhang Xueliang allocated more than 40,000 yuan (old currency) left over from the Liaoning Mortar Factory to the Minsheng Factory as expenses for testing materials used in the development of automobiles. Subsequently, another 700,000 yuan was allocated as trial production and production costs for domestically produced cars. In order to speed up the research and development work, Minsheng Factory hired American technician Miles as the chief engineer, and hired technical personnel who graduated from universities and junior colleges at home and abroad to hold important positions in the factory. At that time, Minsheng Factory had 207 employees, including 30 staff people, 177 workers. Minsheng Factory began the development of domestically produced automobiles in May 1929. Under the conditions of very rudimentary equipment and technical conditions, after more than two years, by June 1931, China's first Minsheng brand 75 2.5-ton domestic truck was finally successfully trial-produced. To this end, the Shenyang Mortar Factory held a grand celebration meeting. In July of the same year, the car was invited to be exhibited in Shanghai, and 15 more units were planned to be produced as a gift for the "Double Tenth Day". Later, due to the "September 18th" incident launched by the Japanese army, it was not assembled in time. Photos and historical materials from Shanghai's "Road Monthly" in October 1931 and Shanghai's "Republic of China Daily" on August 13 of the same year roughly recorded the basic process of the Minsheng Factory's trial production of domestically produced cars. According to reports, in August 1929, after completing the basic preparations, the Minsheng Factory purchased parts of the Rayleigh truck from the United States and shipped them back to the United States in accordance with General Zhang Xueliang’s instruction that trucks were an urgently needed means of transportation at that time. The entire vehicle is assembled in-house and a large number of tests are conducted. Then the entire Ruilei vehicle was disassembled, important vulnerable parts were selected, designed and remanufactured. Through the disassembly, mapping and testing of automobiles, we have initially mastered automobile design and manufacturing technology. According to the automobile manufacturing plan of the Minsheng Factory, it was originally planned to trial-produce and produce two types of trucks, one is the 55 type with a load of 2 tons, and the other is the 100 type with a load of 3 tons. Later, according to the needs of urban and rural transportation, it was determined to be the 75 type of 2.5 tons. Truck. The Minsheng 75 truck is designed in-house. Auto parts such as engines, rear axles, electrical devices and tires were temporarily entrusted to famous foreign professional factories to process according to the drawings designed by Minsheng Factory because the equipment, technology and raw materials could not be solved domestically at the time. In addition, Minsheng brand auto parts are all designed and manufactured by the factory. The Minsheng brand car is long-headed, brown, uses a six-cylinder water-cooled gasoline engine with 65 horsepower, a front and rear wheelbase of 4.7 meters, and a single tire on the front and rear four wheels. The maximum speed is 40 kilometers per hour. The self-designed buffer rear axle also has its own characteristics. The water tank is divided into four parts. Even if one part is damaged, the car will still drive normally. Fengtian's "Shengjing Daily" recorded on September 19, 1931, "The project of producing 40 domestically produced cars at the Minsheng Factory will be completed...the style is exquisite and extremely light." However, due to the "September 18th" Incident, the Minsheng Factory did not assemble the cars. All the parts and components were plundered by the Japanese invading army, and General Zhang Xueliang's ambition to establish a national automobile industry was also ruined. In March 1934, in accordance with the orders of the Japanese Kwantung Army, the Ministry of Industry of the Puppet Manchukuo established Tonghe Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. on the site of the former Liaoning Mortar Factory. The purpose of the company was to adapt to the needs of expansion and aggression and engage in the repair and assembly of automobiles. .
