Rural college students return to their hometowns to start a business in lobster farming
Wei Xueheng is from Longquansi Town, Yongdeng County, Gansu Province. When he was in college in Nanjing, he taught himself lobster farming techniques in southern cities. After graduation, he returned to his hometown and successfully experimented with crayfish farming using natural spring water in plateau and alpine areas. In 2014, the "Large-scale Crayfish Cultivation Method in Plateau and Alpine Cold" he developed was patented by the State Intellectual Property Office. After the test was successful, he contracted 500 acres of riverside beach land in his hometown through land transfer and developed 250 acres of aquaculture crayfish. Today, Wei Xueheng's breeding base has entered the stage of large-scale breeding. Through the base farmers, surrounding villagers are driven to develop breeding in the form of cooperatives.
