Academician Liu Boli has long been engaged in the research of radiochemistry and radiopharmaceuticals. He is a famous expert in radiochemistry and radiopharmaceuticals in China and has been in charge of teaching and scientific research in the front line. In order to strengthen the national defense force of the motherland, he and his collaborators undertook and completed the research on the treatment of low-level fission waste liquid in the nuclear fuel reprocessing project in China, the decontamination of brackish water polluted by fission products at the nuclear explosion site, the radioactive purification of primary water of nuclear submarine reactor, and the extraction of cesium-137, strontium -90 and other fission products from high-level fission waste liquid, which made important contributions to the completion of related military tasks.
In the early 1970s, he began to devote himself to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and engaged in the research of radiopharmaceuticals. He is one of the leading pioneers in the field of radiopharmaceuticals in China. He has undertaken the national key projects in the field of radiopharmaceuticals in the Sixth Five-Year Plan and the Seventh Five-Year Plan, the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation in the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the sub-projects of the National Climbing Plan, "2 1 1 project", as well as many general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and Beijing projects. The radiopharmaceuticals with 15 nuclide were studied, and a series of innovative achievements were made in the molecular design and application of radiopharmaceuticals. The stability law of technetium complex was put forward for the first time, and the structure-activity relationship of radiopharmaceuticals in heart, brain, adrenal gland and related receptors was systematically studied. 99mTc-ECD and 99mTc-MIBI, which directed and participated in the research and development, obtained the national first-class new drug certificate and production certificate, and achieved great economic and social benefits. The new radioactive drugs that are expected to become China's independent intellectual property rights include: brain perfusion imaging agent 99mTc-MPBDA, brain dopamine D2 receptor imaging agent 123I-AIBZM, myocardial perfusion imaging agent 99mTc(CO)3(MIBI)3 and renal function imaging agent 99mTc-BPHA, among which 99mTc-MPBDA and 99mTc(CO) are used. In addition, the plaque imaging agent labeled with positron nuclide 1 1C and two new myocardial imaging agents 67Ga and11in were developed. The wet-heat melting labeling method and crown ether medium catalytic exchange method were pioneered. The former is a new technology for labeling radiopharmaceuticals, while the latter realizes rapid isotope exchange at low temperature. He and his collaborators have published 180 papers in major professional journals at home and abroad. He has won 9 awards, including the National Science and Technology Conference Award (1979), the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the State Education Commission (1993), the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and the Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards.
Modest and practical officer
So many achievements are the result of long-term efforts and efforts. In the above ten years of research, he has almost no holidays and devoted himself to the research. Because these jobs are often exposed to highly toxic radionuclides, he received a large dose of radiation in his selfless work. Although he was in his prime at that time, his hair had fallen off and turned white. In the process of research, "the overall interests of the motherland are above everything else" has long been rooted in his heart. He closely linked scientific research with the fate of the motherland. It is his clear motive and purpose to strengthen the national defense force of the motherland and add glory to the country. He can bravely undertake the research that the country urgently needs when the country needs it. His all-out and conscious work shows his infinite love and loyalty to the cause of the party. Liu Boli often has to work overtime for work needs. In those years when he was engaged in military research, his work was heavy and intense. On New Year's Eve, when everyone else was sitting around the table for a reunion dinner, Liu Boli had already started working in the laboratory.
Liu Boli is now 75 years old, but he is still engaged in front-line teaching, doing research and accomplishing important tasks of the country. Besides, Liu Boli will find time to learn new knowledge every day. He said that he would never live to learn. Liu Boli has been admitted to the hospital many times because of his old body and heavy work. Children always care about the health of the elderly and advise them to work less and have more rest. But the old man can't let go of the job at hand. He said that every progress he made was the result of the party's long-term training and education, and he would be a silkworm until he died. Only by working hard can he live up to the trust and cultivation of the party and the people.
Have a pure heart for the party and the motherland
Academician Liu Boli actively carried out international academic exchanges, and was invited to the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory of Kyushu University, Northeastern University, new york State University, University of Pennsylvania and University of California, Davis for cooperative research and lectures. He is a consultant for the research project of brain radiopharmaceuticals in the Department of Radiology, University of Pennsylvania (1990- 1994). In addition, he was the initiator of the Sino-Japanese bilateral conference on radiopharmaceuticals (1987- present). As a representative of China, he also participated in two international conferences on radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear cooperation programs in the Asia-Pacific region, held in Bangkok and Sydney in 1993 and 1995. In 2004, on the basis of full discussion with the director of the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Isotope Institute in Leipzig, Germany, a cooperation agreement was signed, which promoted the substantive cooperation between Beijing Normal University and the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Isotope Institute in Leipzig.
Every time he visits, Liu Boli strictly abides by the rules of visiting and never stays abroad for no reason. He even gave the rest of his salary after working abroad to the school and the country after returning home. Liu Boli visited the United States nine times and was well received by the United States every time. The United States also tried to keep him, but Liu Boli resolutely refused. During the period of 1989, the domestic situation was turbulent. At that time, Liu Boli happened to be visiting the University of Pennsylvania, and the US immigration authorities persuaded him to stay and work in the United States. On the one hand, the domestic situation, on the other hand, the generous treatment of the United States, Liu Boli did not hesitate to choose the former. He said that in prosperity, it is easier to love the party and the motherland, and in adversity, we should be equally loyal to the party and the motherland.
Vigorously cultivate and support talents
Academician Liu Boli actively devoted himself to personnel training. Starting from 1960, four postgraduate students majoring in radiochemistry were enrolled and trained in domestic universities for the first time. Since the reform and opening up, he has trained 15 doctoral students and 35 master students for the country. He firmly believes that shine on you is better than Blue, and actively cultivates young researchers so that they can grow into backbones as soon as possible. Under his leadership and efforts, the Key Laboratory of Radioactive Drugs of Beijing Normal University was formally established. And actively participated in the establishment of 985 non-power nuclear technology innovation platform, which promoted the research and development of radioactive drugs and the training of young talents in China.
80% of his students are studying or working abroad, and all of them have achieved excellent results in their work, and some have become academic leaders in the field of radiopharmaceuticals in some universities. Mr. Liu Boli also encourages his students to return to China to serve after completing their studies. He often tells his students that going abroad can broaden their horizons and gain knowledge and skills, but we can't forget that our ultimate roots are in China. Influenced by him, some of his students returned from their studies.
As a party member, he has always believed that without the education and training of the Party, there would be nothing today. Only with the long-term training of the Party and the help and cooperation of comrades can we play its due role in the construction of the motherland. Therefore, his gratitude to the party, good times and bad times can be kept in mind, and he can do his best in his work to make more contributions to the motherland. At the same time, it plays an exemplary role in all aspects and influences and drives young people with its own practical actions. In 2005, Beijing Normal University's "Education Activity to Maintain the Advanced Nature of Communist party member", despite his advanced age, he still studied hard according to the requirements of the Party and regarded this education as a gas station for his continued revolution. He conscientiously summed up his own experience and played a good exemplary role in party member. During the discussion, he analyzed himself and his existing situation realistically, tried hard to find the gap, made clear the direction of progress, and formulated rectification measures, all of which benefited young party member a lot and deeply realized the qualities that a real contemporary party member should have.
