As a non-standard mechanical design engineer, we are limited to non-standard. From the perspective of non-standard mechanical design, we can look at the cultivation of a mechanical engineer's character.
1: Less job hopping. From a newcomer to a senior engineer, non-standard mechanical design engineers have gone through three steps of "copy, modify and create".
"First copy" is the first step to carry out regular design for plagiarizing other people's institutions;
"Second reform" means to transform other people's institutions to carry out advanced plagiarism design after gaining a certain amount of experience in copying. ;
The "Three Creations" means that after accumulating experience in improving other people's institutions in the second step, they then carry out their own innovative designs, such as unique institutions, such as patent applications, etc.
This is a long process, the process of accumulating experience in non-standard design. You have to be patient. If you don’t work for one company for a few months, then jump to another company for a few months, this will last forever. Without accumulation, you will always stay in the first step of plagiarized design.
2: Be patient. In design, we often encounter design difficulties or process difficulties. Don’t give up when you encounter setbacks.
When I was a newcomer, whenever I encountered difficulties, I would immediately come to him and ask him if he didn’t know how to design. Then I would ask him a few more questions based on his own situation, what professional courses he had taken in college, and why. He understood immediately. Although he was very perceptive, he would ask questions when encountering minor setbacks in his work and did not have the patience to think. Many veteran engineers did not like this. Therefore, it is important to cultivate patience. Our design work has always been inseparable from patience and the stool under your butt.
3: Read more books. The first thing I recommend is MISIMI's "MISIMI FA Factory Automation Parts" and "SMC Pneumatic Components". After reading it for a few days, I learned something. Usually at this time, I will understand some parts and pneumatic components and look at the details, such as MISIMI. Shaft tolerance fit of parts, relationship between diameter and length, chamfer size, etc. When I was working on machinery, my master taught me this. After reading these two books carefully and practicing them, I was able to get started with basic mechanical design. Of course, when I talk about reading more books, it’s not just these two books. For example, mechanical design manuals, you don’t need to remember all the commonly used bolts, springs, fits, etc. You need to have an idea in mind, and you will remember them after using them a lot, but The premise is that you will become more and more impressed after watching it. There are many books, but as a newcomer, these two books are enough.
