Principle: VOOC flash charging adds an MCU intelligent chip to the adapter, thus realizing revolutionary voltage open-loop and piecewise constant current technology.
Compared with the traditional over-current protection, VOOC has created a five-fold protection technology from adapter to interface to the inside of mobile phone for the first time.
The first level, adapter overload protection. At the front end, when the current enters the adapter, the sensors in it will detect the voltage and current in real time. When the detection is safe and reliable, the MOSFET (protection) switch will automatically turn on the flash charging. The exception will be closed immediately.
The second level, flash charging state identification protection. When the current passes through the adapter, the MCU chip will identify whether the device supports flash charging, and only if it supports it can the flash charging be turned on and the second-level overload protection be turned on.
The third level, interface overload protection. In the middle section, when the current enters the mobile phone, the MCU in the mobile phone will control the third MOSFET (protection) switch at the specially customized 7pinUSB interface to implement the third-level overload protection.
The fourth level, battery overload protection. Finally, the special IC and MOSFET switch in the battery constitute the fourth line of defense. Responsible for the overload protection of voltage and current entering the battery.
The fifth level, battery fuse protection. When an abnormality occurs, the fuse in the battery will be blown immediately, physically cutting off the current input.
These five protections improve the charging safety index from PPM (one in a million) to aerospace-grade DPM (one in a billion).
