Does BYD Han have a Tesla patent?

In the first year of 2020, China electric car was highly regarded by P7 and BYD Han.

Who can kill Tesla? This problem has been under discussion. In the past, Mercedes-Benz BMW Audi was highly anticipated. However, after the listing of EQC, e-tron, Q2L e-tron and the appearance of iX3, it was found that it was basically impossible to expect these cars to kill Tesla.

As for the China brand, anyone who dares to talk about benchmarking Tesla will be ridiculed. Even if AionLX only takes out one dimension of acceleration, PK Tesla will attract many people's contempt.

In 2020, the appearance of two products brought hope for breaking the deadlock of Tesla, namely P7 and BYD Korea. This time, it's different. For P7 and Han, their goal of killing Tesla is no longer like this, and there seems to be not so much disdain from the outside world. In addition to the formation of synergy between the two cars in a short time, the breakthrough of 700 km battery life and the application of blade batteries are the fundamental reasons. One is a new milestone in battery life, and the other is a major breakthrough in battery technology.

As a result, the release of the front and rear feet of the two cars quickly formed the first camp of the benchmark Model3.

However, after personally experiencing BYD Korea at close range, we found that the target of this car is not Tesla Model3 at all. Except that both cars are electric cars, the price ranges overlap slightly, and they are two products with completely different positioning.

Compared with Model3, which emphasizes technology, BYD Han is actually a luxury and comfort-oriented commercial vehicle. Although the China version is divided into two different versions, the single-motor long-life version and the dual-motor sports version, and the latter's main selling point is acceleration and sports performance, in the future sales, the long-life version is bound to become the main sales force, and the version is more commercial in design, adjustment and configuration, and the average age of the audience is expected to be older than Model3.

For Han's competing products, BYD engineers also gave us an unexpected answer: B-class fuel vehicles represented by Passat, Camry and Accord. Korea will take advantage of the same price, larger space, more luxurious configuration and license plate of electric vehicles to attract more than 654.38+00,000 B-class car consumers every year.

Han's killing Tesla may be just wishful thinking of the outside world.

Let's take a closer look at this misunderstood BYD Han.

The biggest attraction of BYD Korea is the first production car equipped with a blade battery. The blade battery based on iron phosphate battery has the characteristics of high safety, long battery life and long service life.

Judging from the information released so far, the maximum cruising range of the long-life version of Korea is 605 kilometers, the maximum cruising range of the dual-motor performance version is 550 kilometers, and the battery capacity is 79Kwh.

Compared with ternary lithium battery, blade battery has better thermal stability and can significantly reduce the possibility of vehicle spontaneous combustion. The unique modeling structure and patented technology of blade battery make it difficult to accumulate heat and the battery temperature rises slowly. In the "acupuncture test", the surface temperature of the blade battery was maintained at 30~60℃ after being punctured, and not only did it not catch fire, but even smoke did not come out.

Secondly, the space utilization rate of blade battery pack is 50% higher than that of block battery pack.

BYD's engineers said that BYD will not explore the cruising range too aggressively for blade batteries, and the next research and development direction will focus on safety and charging efficiency.

The acceleration time of 0- 100km/h of hanshuang motor version is 3.9 seconds, which sets a new brand record of 4.3 seconds held by Tang DM. The motor adopts high-voltage platform design, and the output voltage of blade battery reaches 570 volts. With the advanced thermal management system, the peak current can reach 800A A.

In addition, BYD Han is also equipped with Bosch's intelligent integrated braking system for the first time. This system is a highly integrated electro-hydraulic braking solution of Bosch iBooster and ESP systems. Its main feature is to cancel the traditional vacuum-assisted braking mechanism and adopt electronic braking assistance, so as to realize the functions of driving mode selection, energy recovery and active braking.

As the heaviest new energy vehicle in 2020, BYD Han has been given too many missions by the outside world, because it comes from BYD, the largest new energy vehicle manufacturer in China, and because of its positioning, it is one of the most positioned electric vehicles at present. However, whether it's the road of high-end electric vehicles or Tesla snipers, China's electric vehicles, which are striding forward all the way, are encountering powerful "foreign enemies". Everyone hopes that someone can stand up, and BYD Han and P7 naturally become heroes pushed to the front stage, just like the American team that was first used to recruit soldiers in Enemy at the Gates and Vasily who frequently appeared in newspapers. Perhaps BYD poured cold water on the positioning of Korea, but an enterprise should have a clearer understanding of the positioning of products and the development direction of technology than the outside world, which is more meaningful than hastily establishing a hero role.
