Huawei has cooperated with the largest new energy car company in China! #digitaltechnews#
Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about the car manufacturing by major Internet companies. Xiaomi and Baidu have announced the production of cars; no, Huawei has also joined in the fun and will cooperate with BAIC on April 17. They jointly launched the Alpha S, a mid- to large-sized sedan, and you can touch the actual car at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Ji Guojun secretly tells everyone that the biggest feature of this car is that it is the first mass-produced car equipped with Huawei's HI solution, which is quite impressive! !
There is a company that can never be avoided in China for new energy vehicles, BAIC New Energy. BAIC’s new energy has always been on the low-end route, and for a long time, due to various reasons, BAIC All new energy vehicles are high-priced and low-profile.
With various Internet companies going overseas to build cars in recent years, and the establishment of Tesla’s Shanghai factory, BAIC’s old path is no longer viable. Entering the high-end market is part of BAIC’s pursuit of change. As a high-end brand launched by BAIC, Jihu officially announced its "marriage" relationship with Huawei today.
You must be very curious about what BAIC and Huawei are cooperating with? What are Huawei’s HI solutions? Ji Guojun Judging from the information released so far, the HI solution equipped with Alpha S should still focus on the in-car interactive experience.
Mr. Jiguo is still looking forward to it. After all, whoever gets in the car now uses the functions of the car phone. As soon as he gets in the car, his mobile phone is connected. The best car-machine system is one that makes you not feel that there is a car-machine system.
In addition to using Huawei's HI solution for the vehicle-mounted system, Alpha S will also be equipped with assisted driving systems provided by Huawei, including lidar, vehicle-mounted cameras, etc. This time, BAIC's Polar Fox Alpha S is the second mass-produced model to be equipped with lidar. The last mass-produced model was the NIO ET7 released last year.
However, NIO ET7 has not delivered actual cars so far, and the level of assisted driving has not been announced. The assisted driving level announced by Alpha S this time is L2.5. Currently, there is no accurate positioning of L2.5. Tesla's autonomous driving only belongs to the L2.5 level and is an industry benchmark. It almost achieves driverless driving based on the use of cameras only. Although Musk looks down on lidar, Apple's iPhone 12 has proven that lidar is currently the best detection solution in a dark night environment.
Huawei has been applying for lidar patents before. On March 5, it announced "a lidar" for the first time. Jiguojun learned that Huawei's new lidar can be used in Autonomous driving, connected vehicles and other fields, and has high detection sensitivity.
Since Huawei reduced the cost of lidar to US$100, it has become possible to equip mass-produced cars with lidar. This time, the Alpha S is equipped with three lidars. Jiguojun believes that the Jifox Alpha S equipped with Huawei's HI solution will surprise us in autonomous driving, especially night driving, but we will have to wait until Jiguojun experiences it on April 17 before we can make a conclusion.
In terms of battery life, Alpha S has launched three cruising range versions this time, namely 525km, 603km and 708km, but they are still measured by the old monkey NEDC.
It is well known that NEDC’s mileage has shrunk seriously. You must be curious why? That's because NEDC is the endurance data measured by the vehicle under the best temperature and best working conditions, but the reality is much more complicated. If you carry a little baby weighing more than 200 kilograms, it is understandable that the cruising range drops by 100km.
In terms of motors, this time the Polar Fox Alpha S will adopt a front and rear dual motor layout and provide two types of high and low power. The maximum power of the motor is 160kW and 320kW, and the peak torque is 360N·m and 720N·m respectively. . Ji Guojun guessed that according to this power mode and cruising range distribution, this time Alfa S will have a sports model, and the 0-100km/s 4.3s will only be available in the special edition.
The JiFox Alpha S still adopts the same appearance design language as the SUV. In the past two years, domestic manufacturers have also paid more and more attention to the family-oriented design of the appearance of the models. The front face looks a bit like a Porsche, the fast-back rear, the grille-less design, and the hidden door handles give it a full sense of technology. Ferdinand, the first-generation designer of Porsche, never dreamed that his car design language would leave a mark in the era of electrification of cars.
In terms of interior, although it has a very modern large-screen central control design, there is no hidden design in the air-conditioning outlet. It can be said to be a collision of futuristic and traditional design. In other aspects, although it uses the same gear lever design as most electric vehicles, there are also physical knobs on the armrests.
Ji Guojun is very curious about this design. Isn’t the central control screen touch-sensitive? It also needs knob control. The answer may not be revealed until the actual car is touched at the Shanghai Auto Show.
In addition, Jifox Alpha S uses Yanfei Lishi audio, and a large number of places in the car are wrapped in NAPPA leather, creating a pretty good sense of luxury, but the sense of luxury is not Relying on the pile of materials, the specific noise and vibration control after the vehicle is driven can best reflect the sense of luxury. These will have to wait for Mr. Jiguo to test drive in person.
From the current point of view, the Polar Fox Alpha S jointly developed by BAIC New Energy and Huawei is Huawei’s first step into the automotive industry. Although Huawei has made it clear that it will not join the vehicle manufacturing industry, if it can provide a good smart ecosystem for many domestic car companies, it will be just around the corner for Huawei to become an automotive supply chain giant.
Perhaps in the future, Huawei's smart ecosystem will become a major help for domestic car companies to catch up with Tesla in smart travel. Jiguojun is also looking forward to the day when talking about autonomous driving is no longer the only one dominated by Tesla. Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask everyone, what do you think of the joint branding between Huawei and BAIC?
