Raiju, the exclusive controller of Razer PS4, unpacking test report.

Razer has been launched in the PC field. Recently, it is very rare to launch an esports handle for Sony's PS4 host, which can support both PS4 host and PC-side Steam platform. The name of this handlebar is "Raiju". If you speak Japanese, its pronunciation is exactly the same as "らぃじゅぅぅ" in Japanese. You should often see the word Lei Shou in cartoons. For example, the Japanese team in Wings of Football Boys is the strongest.

Razer Raiju official promotional film:

The buttons of this Raiju handlebar adopt the patented Hypersponse mechanical structure, and the handle is said to be very different from the ordinary Dual Shock 4 handlebar. Engadget is honored to borrow this Raiju handle named "Lei Shou" from Razer this time. Before it's too late, let's continue to look at the picture of the handle!

▲ This is a front photo of Raiju, a PS4 esports player launched by Razer. Obviously, Razer Raiju has a row of function keys below the Dual Shock 4 wireless handle attached to the PS4.

▲ Don't forget to print Razer's standard Logo on the central touchpad. The Share and options buttons on both sides have become circular raised buttons, which are easier to press than the Dual Shock 4.

▲ There are two things similar to LED lights under the Logo display in the center of another picture, namely the display status lights of Profile 1 and Profile2. When the user defines and sets the function key, it will also blink.

▲ The four function key buttons at the bottom of the middle are, from left to right, the configuration key of the setting button, the cycle key of the setting function, the microphone on/off key and the volume control key. In addition, you can also see the central 3.5mm terminal hole for inserting headphones.

▲ The above two left and right analog joysticks were originally thought to be fixed in shape, but the blue anti-slip part can be removed. QK Xiaohu thinks the anti-skid pad is better than the original Dual Shock 4 handle.

▲ The box, triangle and ooxx buttons of PS traditional pattern are also convex button styles, and the pressing force is very shallow, which is easy to trigger.

?

▲ In the upper part of the handle, in addition to the original LR, L2 and R2, you can see that there are two similar buttons on both sides of the central Micro USB hole connecting the transmission line, namely the multi-function keys M 1 and M2 that can be set.

▲ Turn to the front and back, and you can see that there is a switch that looks like it can be pulled under M 1 and M2, which is used to open and close the locking switch of M 1 and M2.

▲ Holding part of the blue anti-slip design, good grip, comfortable and not easy to slide down.

▲ The appearance of the back of the handle is obviously more than that of Dual Shock 4 with two buttons similar to trigger, which are also user-defined multifunction keys M3 and M4.

▲ Look carefully at the M4 multifunction button, and you can notice that there is a hole in the button and a switch that looks like it can be pulled. What is this for?

▲ The original intimate Razer allows users to disassemble the multifunction keys M3 and M4 by themselves. The method is simple. Just pick up the attached star screwdriver and unscrew the screw in the hole, and the key cap of the multi-function key can be removed.

▲ This is what the keycap looks like when it is removed. This convex part that bounces up can be pressed down and locked.

▲ There is something like a switch next to it. It is actually a spring tenon. When it is covered, it will automatically buckle. It will pop up when needed. Great design!

▲ There is also a storage bag inside the box, which is suitable for carrying when going out. You can put your hand in it and put the wires together.

▲ Even the screwdriver for removing the keycap has its own storage space!

After trying some games, QK Tiger probably thinks that the difference between Razer Raiju and ordinary PS4 handle is as follows:

1. Feeling:

Mainly lies in the feeling that the button is pressed. The buttons of the ordinary Dual Shock 4 handle belong to deep touch, and the player can obviously feel the feeling of pressing the button with his finger, and then feed it back to the finger through conductive rubber, so that the player's hand can obviously feel that he is pressing the button continuously. But Razer's Raiju, its button trigger feels more like a "mouse click" feeling, very shallow, and the player's finger output can be said to be almost deliberate, as long as it is lightly touched, the button can be touched.

In addition, the interpretation of the cross button is particularly important. At present, most PS4 games mainly use the left analog joystick to control the movement of characters in the game, but the cross button is still used in quite a few times. For players who often use the cross buttons on the traditional Dual Shock 4 handle to play action games, if they want to use Razer Raiju for the same operation, I am afraid they will be disappointed. Because the four directions of Razer Raiju cross key are completely separated, although it has the advantages of clear direction and not easy to press by mistake, there is no way to freely rotate in four directions without effort, and it is not difficult to press the oblique direction, because Dual Shock 4 is a large plastic module. And Raiju's four direction keys are hard to touch.

2. Non-wireless:

Nowadays, players are probably used to playing games without being bound by wires, but unfortunately, this Razer Raiju can only be used if it is connected to a transmission line. Although the attached transmission line is quite long, it is a pity that it cannot be used freely in space.

?

3. Weight:

There is no way to add many functions, and the feel will be heavier than the original Dual Shock 4, but it will not be too bad.

?

▲ Although unfortunately it is not a wireless handle, Razer Raiju is a convenient handle for people who often play FPS games. You can define your own buttons, set them on and off, and even remove your own analog sheath or keycap, which adds a little appreciation to this handle.

Summary: This Razer Raiju is obviously designed for FPS-type esports games, and many functions used when playing FPS are built on the handle. Considering that the traditional cross button is mostly used to open weapons and other menus in FPS games, the movement has been replaced by analog rocker, so the operation feel of the cross button has become quite hard. Although it is not suitable for moving or making moves like fighting games, it is very accurate. Although the position of the multi-function definition key looks a bit abrupt, it can be turned on or off by a switch, or the key cap can be directly removed with the attached screwdriver, which is very free. If you are a player who loves FPS, you can try this Razer Raiju handle.
