In the process of examination, if the Patent Office considers that the application meets the requirements, it will issue a notice of approval for the first examination, and then make an announcement. However, during the announcement period, anyone can object to the announced patent. If the objection is established, the Patent Office will review the application, and may issue a second notice of approval and make another announcement. Therefore, a patent may be published many times.
2. Division application: In Taiwan Province Province, the applicant can file a division application for a patent application. A divisional application refers to separating one or more inventions in the original application as an independent patent application. The divisional application will be regarded as a new application and can be announced again after substantive examination. Therefore, an original application may have announcements of multiple divisional applications.
3. Amendment announcement: In Taiwan Province Province, if the patent applicant finds that there are errors or omissions in the contents of the announced patent, he may request amendment from the Patent Office. After reviewing the amendment request, the Patent Office will issue an amendment announcement if it finds that the amendment meets the requirements. Therefore, a patent may be revised several times.
