Anhui Huasheng’s 500MW heterojunction cell module goes into production, opening a new era of HJT

On March 18, 2021, the world's first low-cost intelligent mass production HJT project - Anhui Huasheng Xuancheng 500MW heterojunction cell module project was officially put into production. On March 25, SOLARZOOM conducted an exclusive interview on the commissioning and trial production of Anhui Huasheng 500MW heterojunction project. Anhui Huasheng 500MW heterojunction cell module project was launched in July 2020, and construction began on November 11, 2020. After 4 months of hard work by more than 200 people from Huasheng Company, supporting equipment manufacturers, main and auxiliary material supplier teams, and the construction unit CLP Second Team, the 500MW heterojunction battery production line was officially put into production on March 18, 2021 Release the film. Since then, after nearly a week of debugging and trial production by Anhui Huasheng Battery Division, its 500MW battery was based on equipment from core equipment manufacturers such as Maiwei and Lihua Wanlihui, as well as Zhonghuan’s N-type silicon wafers, KE and Juhe’s low-temperature slurry. The average conversion efficiency of HJT cells on the mass production line has reached about 23.8%, and the maximum efficiency of HJT cells is as high as 24.39%. Xu Xiaohua, CEO of Anhui Huasheng, told us: "It went smoothly than expected, and it was much smoother than expected. I originally thought that it would take some time for efficiency debugging and production line stabilization. But the efficiency of the films coming out now is quite good. Yes, it should be said that it is much better than I expected. We originally made a production ramp-up plan. The efficiency in the early stage of commissioning when we just started the factory was originally expected to be 22+%. The actual situation is equivalent to one month ahead of the original plan. Month to one and a half months.”

According to the SOLARZOOM New Energy Think Tank, Anhui Huasheng’s 500MW heterojunction cell module project has created a number of global and domestic HJT industry records, and has far-reaching implications for the development of heterojunction technology and even the entire photovoltaic industry. Significance:

First of all, Anhui Huasheng’s 500MW heterojunction battery production line is the world’s first intelligent HJT mass production battery line that completely uses domestically produced equipment. Huasheng's 500MW battery line adopts Qiweixing's cleaning and texturing equipment, Maiwei and Ideal Wanlihui's PECVD equipment, Maiwei's PVD equipment, Maiwei and Zhongchenhao's screen printing equipment, and uses Maiwei's The MES system released at the HJT2.0 product launch on December 4, 2020, schedules and intelligently optimizes the full battery production line.

Secondly, Anhui Huasheng’s 500MW heterojunction module production line is the world’s first HJT mass production module production line using high-precision string welding equipment, and it also applies 12SMBB cell series connection technology for the first time.

Thirdly, Anhui Huasheng 500MW heterojunction project will introduce silver-coated copper slurry into the mass production HJT battery line for the first time in the world. After the introduction of silver-coated copper, the unit silver consumption of HJT cells will be the same as The gap between PERC battery unit silver consumption will shrink sharply from about 100% in 2020 to less than 20%. There is still room for further decline in the future, close to or even lower than PERC silver consumption, truly opening up the era of low-cost mass production of HJT technology .

Fourth, Anhui Huasheng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is the first GW-level new entrant in the field of HJT battery components in China. The 500MW project currently put into production by Anhui Huasheng will reach production at the end of June after about three months of ramping up production capacity. After reaching production, Anhui Huasheng will immediately start the 2GW-scale HJT cell + module expansion in the second half of the year, and will provide GW-level HJT module products with lower cost, higher efficiency and higher power generation per watt to the global market in 2022. .

Fifth, Anhui Huasheng will use mass production data to verify the fully localized new 8,000 pieces/hour texturing and cleaning equipment from Jiangsu Qiweixing in the 500MW heterojunction project, which comes from Ideal Wanlihui’s first PECVD equipment with a production capacity of 5,000 pieces/hour, the first PECVD equipment with a production capacity of 8,000 pieces/hour from Maiwei, and the first self-developed PVD equipment with a production capacity of 8,000 pieces/hour from Maiwei, as well as from Zhongchenhao of screen printing equipment.

In addition, Anhui Huasheng has also reserved some production sites, which will be used to verify more domestically produced HJT equipment with greater production capacity, and promote the comprehensive localization and rapid cost reduction of HJT equipment.

HJT technology has experienced 30 years of development since Japan's Sanyo Company creatively applied intrinsic amorphous silicon thin films to heterojunction cells in 1991. Today, driven by a large number of outstanding Chinese photovoltaic companies represented by Anhui Huasheng, Maiwei, Ideal Wanlihui, Zhonghuan, etc., and with the joint efforts of R&D, technology and process personnel in all aspects of the HJT industry chain, , China's photovoltaic manufacturing has finally achieved low-cost, intelligent commercial mass production of "HJT cells, the ultimate platform-level technology for mankind to lead to laminated solar cells."
