Recently, the domestic patented design drawings of Toyota Harrier have been exposed, and the new car is making final preparations for entering China. Harrier is positioned as a mid-size SUV, between the size of RAV4 and Highlander. It is reported that Toyota Harrier is expected to be officially released at the Shanghai Auto Show in April next year at the earliest and will be launched in November 2021.
In terms of appearance, according to the patent drawings, there is not much difference between the domestic version of Harrier and the overseas version. Its body lines are softer and more like an urban SUV. The front face adopts slender and sharp LED headlights, chrome trim strips and a large trapezoidal air intake grille design that is quite aesthetic. The domestically produced Toyota Harrier adopts a through-type taillight design. At the same time, the new car also provides chrome-plated exhaust with dual outlets on both sides.
In terms of interior, the new car may be equipped with a 12.3-inch high-definition TFT central touch screen. Of course, the popular active safety and driving assistance safety systems will be equipped, which supports collision warning, lane keeping, road sign assistance and other functions. At the same time, the streaming rearview mirror will also be reflected.
In terms of power, the overseas version of Toyota Harrier offers a 2.0L fuel version and a 2.5L hybrid version. Among them, the fuel version has a 2.0L engine with a maximum power of 126kW and a maximum torque of 207 N·m, matched with a CVT continuously variable transmission; the hybrid version is equipped with a 2.5L engine, and the two-wheel drive hybrid version is equipped with a single motor with maximum power 160kW; the four-wheel drive hybrid model is equipped with dual motors with a maximum power of 163kW. It is expected that domestic models will also use the same power.
