What's the difference between C network and G network?

Hello, G network refers to the global system for mobile communication, abbreviated as GSM in English, and C network refers to code division multiple access technology, abbreviated as CDMA in English. There are many differences in hardware and software between them, and they are two independent second-generation mobile communication systems (2G). Moreover, GSM single-mode mobile phones, GSM/WCDMA dual-mode mobile phones and GSM/TD-SCDMA dual-mode mobile phones cannot use CDMA networks. Similarly, CDMA single-mode mobile phones and CDMA/CDMA2000 dual-mode mobile phones cannot use GSM network.

1.GSM is mainly proposed by European companies, and the patents are mainly controlled by European companies such as Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks. At the same time, GSM network is the most widely used network in the world, which supports the most countries and operators and supports the most terminals. It can be upgraded to GPRS/EDGE network, providing packet data connection function, enabling users to access the Internet, and can be upgraded to WCDMA 3G network through software and hardware upgrades. At present, both China Mobile and China Unicom's 2G networks adopt the GSM standard.

2.CDMA was mainly put forward by Qualcomm. Due to various reasons such as patent fees, CDMA is not as developed as GSM at present, and its application fields are much less than GSM. The advantage of CDMA is that the radiation is lower than that of GSM, and the call quality is better. CDMA 1X network can provide the same network speed as GSM edge network, and the coverage area can be wider than GSM with the same number of base stations. 3G network upgraded to CDMA2000 system is smoother and faster than GSM. CDMA network was originally operated by China Unicom. Later, the telecommunications industry was reorganized, and telecommunications took over the CDMA network, so the current 2G network standard of telecommunications adopts CDMA.
