The invention name in the request shall be consistent with the invention name in the specification. The name of the invention shall briefly and accurately indicate the subject and type of the application for a patent for invention. The name of the invention shall not contain non-technical words such as name, unit name, trademark, code name and model number. Nor shall it contain ambiguous words such as "and others" and "and its analogues"; Nor should we only use general words, so that no information about the invention is given. For example, we only use words such as "method", "device", "composition" and "compound" as the name of the invention.

The name of the invention generally does not exceed 25 words. Under special circumstances, for example, some inventions in the field of chemistry may be allowed up to 40 words.

The product name using the design can explain the product type to which the design is applied. The name of the product using the design shall be consistent with the design shown in the design picture or photo, and accurately and concisely indicate the design of the product to be protected. The product name should generally be consistent with the name listed in the international classification of designs. The product name generally does not exceed 20 words.

The product name should also avoid the following situations:

(1) contains names of people, places, countries, companies, trademarks, codes, models or products named after historical times;

(2) Inappropriate and abstract names, such as "stationery", "cooker", "musical instrument" and "building supplies";

(3) Names describing technical effects and internal structure such as "fuel-saving engine", "human body heightening insole" and "automobile with new engine";

(4) Product specification, size, proportion and name of quantity unit, such as "2 1 inch TV", "medium bookcase" and "a pair of gloves";

(5) Names named after foreign characters or characters with no clear Chinese meaning, such as Clarice Bottle, but well-known characters with clear meanings, such as DVD player, LED light and USB hub, can be used.
