Current status of Aqiu

At present, Aqiu has withdrawn from the CCTV stage.

Aqiu joined CCTV in 2003 and began to serve as the host of the "Social Record" column. Aqiu took telling the stories of ordinary people as the theme of the program. With his lively and humorous hosting style and accurate depiction of local culture, Aqiu quickly rose to prominence on Guangxi TV and was honored as the "Legendary Host of Guangxi TV". The audience is deeply fond of the characters written by Aqiu, because Aqiu's descriptions make these characters full of life and the language is humorous and vivid.

With his outstanding rhetorical skills, Aqiu successfully hosted a program that greatly increased the ratings, making Aqiu a well-known program host in Guangxi. Aqiu became a popular CCTV host, but due to some personal reasons, Aqiu withdrew from the CCTV stage and disappeared from public view.

Aqiu’s early experience

Aqiu graduated from Guangxi Normal University (now Nanning Normal University) in 1989, majoring in ideological and political education. Worked in Nanning Cotton Printing and Dyeing Factory and Nanning Art Theater. In 2001, Aqiu received the senior professional title of screenwriter. On April 21, 2003, Aqiu went to the News and Commentary Department of CCTV to serve as the host of the "Social Record" program. Aqiu has edited columns such as "Social Stories", Guangxi TV's "People's Southern Stage", "Travel Caravan" and "People's Patent".

Aqiu once hosted CCTV's "Screening Room 10" and "Cultural Noon". When he was in college, Qiu Menghuang established a college student art troupe, bringing together versatile students from colleges and universities in Guangxi to form the Flea Art Troupe. Aqiu's representative drama works include the drama sketches "Lost Things", "The Call", "My Brother in Nansha", etc.
