2. FREE DETENTION, This means that the container storage fee at the destination port terminal is exempted. This mainly occurs when the consignee cannot clear customs quickly or because the cargo volume is large, and needs to apply for a reduction of this fee at the destination port.
FREE USING means that the daily rent (penalty) incurred after the normal use period of the container is waived. Generally, the free container use period is determined by each major shipping company. The approximate period is 10 days for 20'GP and 14 days for 40'GP. For special containers, the free stacking period means that the customs can release the goods for free after the goods arrive at the port of destination. Stored in the warehouse, shipping by sea usually takes 14 days, and shipping by air usually takes 7 days.
