Patent dispute of gene patent right

In view of the growing controversy over gene patents, the US Congress is currently considering amending the law to make it easier to meet the challenges of gene patents. This spring, the National Institutes of Health released a draft report with a page of 136. The National Academy of Sciences and the Federal Trade Commission also held several hearings. On May 6, 2009, the Judiciary Committee of the United States Senate approved the relevant bill. The Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives also held a hearing, but no agreement has yet been reached. If the bill is passed, it will be the first major revision of the patent law in the United States in more than 50 years.
