Hello everyone, I am very happy to have the opportunity to share NetEase's event with you. , the topic brought to you today is 5G innovative applications to enable industrial development.

The title of the conference is very good and provides insights into the future. First of all, we know what happened in the past, what we are doing now, and what is the future? That makes it clearer, so what was it like in the past? What is it like now? What does the future hold? From the following five aspects.

First of all, what everyone is interested in is that 5G is used to change society, just like 4G changes life. With 4G, the distance between people has been shortened, and the interactive network between people is very convenient. , what 5G will bring to us is worth looking forward to, let’s see what the ancients said. We have all read "Journey to the West". "Journey to the West" describes four scenes. One is flying in the clouds and fog, traveling from the North Sea to the South China Sea in one day, like airplanes and rockets; the clairvoyance is radar and television; What is the "72 Changes"? How to do this? We should really think about it.

What does 5G bring us? 5G is a versatile player. We can see that 5G uses AR, VR, and MR technologies to present things that are thousands of miles away in front of us in a very real way. For example, when we send a rose, we send a rose on the Internet. Traditionally, it is a flat image. Our ancients said, "Giving roses to others has lingering fragrance." Whether this fragrance can be transferred to others, whether our sense of smell and taste can be transferred to us. When a doctor who is thousands of miles away performs an operation on us, whether our feelings can be felt by the doctor who is thousands of miles away, we need to show the ever-changing changes through 5G.

There is also our 5G driving car. I am thinking that in another ten years, driving a car will be a very simple thing. What we may want to do is for our virtual space or our intelligent agent to tell us that after we go out, a car may come and take us to where we need to be. This car is used only to carry cargo and run around. Autonomous driving plays such a role. We are now gradually moving in this direction.

We can solve the problem of uneven medical resources and uneven educational resources through 5G.

One example is very simple. The 5G network connects remote doctors with local doctors. For example, we performed the first remote surgery under the 5G network in Wuhan, Hubei and Xianfeng on July 17, 2019. This surgery was performed on an elderly man with cervical spondylosis. If there is a problem, surgery is needed. Compared with Xianfeng and Wuhan, there is still some gap. The Wuhan doctor needs guidance. Both sides must analyze the case and confirm it. After confirmation, the distant doctor will wear MR glasses to guide Dr. Xianfeng to perform the surgery. This surgery In front of the doctor, such a three-dimensional image was embossed, and it felt very real. The transmission of this image was through the 5G network, which we cannot do with 4G because it does not have such a wide speed. In this way, we completed a very good operation.

From all aspects of ancient people’s communication, we can see that it was very difficult for ancient people to communicate. “Xi He urged the sun to rise and the fusang rose, and beat the drums to scare the flags.” This is a person who beats drums to convey orders, and there is another The beacon tower is wireless, but it transmits very little information. According to the current point of view, it only transmits one bit of information. This bit indicates presence or absence. Whether the enemy is coming or not, when it comes, smoke will be emitted. If there is no Don't risk the smoke when you come. Beating the drum can change the beat of the drum. With more information, we can take corresponding actions according to the sound of the drum. There is also a letter from our family. The ancients said, "The war continues for three months, and a letter from home is worth ten thousand gold."

In 1846, the conjecture that light was part of electromagnetic waves and that electromagnetic waves were transmitted as light beams was first proposed. Three papers were published to verify the existence of electromagnetic waves. Seven years later, the German Hertz confirmed that electromagnetic waves do exist and travel at the speed of light. A few years later, Italian engineers achieved radio transmission across the Atlantic Ocean over 2,700 meters. How many days did it take us to deliver such a message in the past? Now it is completed in an instant, thus opening up an era of electromagnetic wave wireless communication for us. With this, it will be a matter of course. We have 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G implemented step by step. This is where we are now.

Where we are now, we still need to talk about how 5G is implemented? We first put forward a vision for 5G: "Information can be at your fingertips, and everything can be at your fingertips." Information eliminates uncertainty. From A to B, the two places have different understandings of the matter because of its asymmetry, but I can eliminate the uncertainty about it through the exchange of information. This is the basic principle that information needs to be conveyed.

5G proposes not only communication between people, but also communication with machines called MMTC. For the large-scale Internet of Things, the connection of things must also be connected to our machines and factories. And three scenarios of URLLC. Before 5G, we had such a scenario called MBB, without E or BB. Frequencies are getting wider and functions are getting more complex. The first standard was completed in 2017, then perfected in 2018, and started to develop into vertical industries in 2020. Then in 2021, next year we will put forward the demand for 6G.

The entire industry is developing in this iterative direction. With this kind of development, China has made great progress. China has entered the first echelon in the world from 5G, which is reflected in the fact that our standards and patents are two-thirds More than one, our market is very vast, and key links in our industrial chain have their own complete industrial chain. Here, in the global 5G market, the red color indicates the use of 5G. Many countries have not yet used 5G. Our country has all been marked red. Last year was the first year of 5G. Now we have accelerated 5G under central deployment. Go all out to build. The General Secretary has said on many occasions to speed up the construction of 5G. Among them, China Mobile, China Unicom and Telecom are combined. Our current number of base stations, 700,000 have been deployed across the country in 2020, and the development is still very fast. , according to exponential development.

What problems does this development bring? What is its relationship with our digital economy? The digital economy has made it very clear that it is our new infrastructure. We have mentioned several aspects of the new infrastructure. One is information infrastructure. From the network enabling technologies, it is 5G, Internet of Things, Industrial Internet, Satellite Internet, etc., new technologies. They are artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain. Computing power is the data center and intelligent computing center. Then we need to support the transformation of basic industries. There are also some public welfare innovation undertakings, such as national laboratories and national innovation centers. This is the blueprint drawn by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Under this blueprint, we must be able to support the development of vertical industries. Why support the development of vertical industries? We can see that 5G has created new space for the expansion of various industries and the whole society. Statistics show that the world will drive 12 trillion US dollars in economic activities in 2035, of which smart manufacturing, that is, the industrial Internet, will account for 28%, nearly 4 trillion USD, becoming the largest industry application scenario of 5G. Faced with the demand for the industrial Internet, the first step is to improve the efficiency of production and operation management. Because labor costs continue to rise and higher efficiency requirements are put forward, most of our companies are faced with low benefits and low gross profit margins. is our basic reality.

Second, we improve the quality and value of our products. Because most of our companies in China, although they are comprehensive, are basically at the mid- to low-end and have relatively low added value. We need to inject ICT technology to enhance the industrial value.

Third, promote business model innovation. Low profits require us to integrate our capabilities into our social system. There are more than seven million small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the country, and their level of informatization varies. Most small and medium-sized enterprises face capital pressure, cost pressure and manpower pressure, so we There are two aspects to consider when doing this: One is that it is cheap and enterprises can afford it. The second is to make it easier to use.

The basic demands of the Industrial Internet here are firstly that as a network, it should make all connections, as a platform, it should integrate and process massive industrial data, and as a new model and new business format, it should implement intelligent production and network collaboration and the extension of personalized customization and service. This is our basic demand.

Here our network may also become private, by accessing 5G, connecting to our metropolitan area network, 5G core network, and finally forming an IP network, and finally connecting with IDC to form our At the knowledge level, big data and artificial intelligence platforms are developed here. The network may be private or public. As for how to do this, we may need to study it.

The basic difficulty faced by our physical enterprises is to combine IT technology, OT technology and CT technology. CT transfers the original process and full life cycle network connection, and our OT technology, management technology and IT technology are made through CT. Therefore, CT communication technology is still a relatively hot technology here. 5G could not have come at a better time.

Our entire network is divided into two parts, one 2C and one 2B. 2C is an application driven by demand, so there are killer applications, because all of us have the same applications. As long as you make an application that everyone recognizes, everyone will use it. Like WeChat, it is a killer application. But 2B is not possible. 2B is driven by scenarios. Every factory and every enterprise is different, has different requirements, and different parameter values. Therefore, it is difficult to find a killer application, and you may not be able to do it. Come up with a unified solution that can solve not only automobiles but also other factories. So for vertical industries, we are still starting to work on it, and it has not yet been fully released. In fact, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has also said that for 5G, 20 is for red (2C), and 80 is for blue (2B). Why do I use blue? In fact, 2C has become a red ocean market, but 2B is still a blue ocean market that has not been truly developed.

So far, I have just talked about a lot of things, but when you actually make something that can be used in factories and generate value, we may not have found a better solution yet.

But in general, our future trend is digitization. Digital factories are the comprehensive integration of modern industrial modern communications (5G). In the future, virtual industries, virtual workshops and virtual factories can be After we have arranged all the process planning in the virtual space, we go to the physical enterprise to do it, so that we can achieve zero inventory. Zero inventory is a very good thing. Everyone who runs a business knows it, so can industrial upgrading be passed? To do this, IT and CT should be completely unified? With OT taking the lead, and unified, I think OT will definitely be the master of the future industrial Internet. Everything we do is for industry and our enterprises. We may need to seriously consider this issue.

Let’s talk about our future development. Let’s first take a look at what we did ten years ago, what we do now, and what we will do in the future. First we put forward a vision. Ten years ago it was 4G, for everyone. 5G has become three scenarios. People, machines and things all need to communicate. For 6G, we say that the first thing is to be intelligent. In addition, we think it may have something to do with services that are not sensitive to delay, such as satellite networks. Of course, this is not defined, it is just my own idea.

From 1G to 4G, we talk about communication speed. From 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G, the network is getting faster and faster, and the bandwidth is getting wider and wider. 1G is an analog signal, 2G is 10k per second, and in 4G we have reached 100 megabits. , 5G communication speed is only one aspect, and two other aspects have been added, turning it into one aspect.

For the future T-bit concept, we need to expand it. This expansion changes from the communication rate that we need to understand and do to T-bit, which is a thousand times more than the original G-bit. , but this alone is not enough, we have to expand the land area to the sky and into the ocean. The way of processing is because of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and so many advanced technologies, we may have to develop in the space of communication intelligence, so in the future, in addition to increasing our communication speed, we must also expand the communication space. Improving the wisdom of communication is mainly a new system for studying the relationship between intelligent communication and the future of mankind. It is easy to say, but it is actually quite difficult to do, especially since we used to be outside the network, but now we are inside the network. It has a dominant role in the network and is a network driven by consciousness. There are more things that can be done in it. I have drawn an image of the brain here. Everyone is doing it internationally. For example, Finland has proposed 6G wisdom and social intelligence. It wants to develop towards social intelligence. At the same time, many countries are also doing it, and everyone is doing this one after another.

When we imagine something, the key is to look at the real foundation that can support it. China Mobile also gave a very vivid expression. Our 4G changes life, and 5G changes society. It relies on perceiving ubiquity, the real physical world, our intelligent ubiquity, and the digital world through our abstraction, mapping, and interaction to create such a digital twin world.
