Who invented the keyboard?

Keyboards have a very long history. As early as 17 14, people in Britain, America, France, Italy, Switzerland and other countries began to invent various types of typewriters. The earliest keyboards were used on typewriters with immature technology at that time. Until 1868, Chris Larsen Shoals, the "father of typewriters", obtained the patent of typewriter model and the right to operate it. A few years later, he designed a practical form of modern typewriter and standardized the keyboard for the first time, which is now the QWERTY keyboard.

First, the development of computer keyboards.

1, mechanical keyboard. Early computers were all based on transistors, and semiconductor technology was not developed, so the keyboards at that time were all mechanical. There is a similar metal contact switch on the keyboard, which connects or disconnects signals with the computer through contacts. It has the characteristics of simple process, high noise and convenient maintenance.

2. Membrane keyboard. With the development of semiconductor technology and the progress of integrated circuits, mechanical keyboards are gradually replaced by membrane keyboards. This kind of keyboard is cheaper and the whole keyboard becomes lighter.

3. Modern mechanical keyboard. Keyboards account for 99% of the computer market. But there are also many players who are not satisfied with the feel and service life.

4. Laser virtual keyboard. With sci-fi colors, you can tap the input by projecting the keyboard onto the plane with projection technology.

Second, why should the keyboard be standardized into the current layout?

At first, the keyboards of typewriters were arranged in alphabetical order, and typewriters were all mechanical typing tools. If the typing speed is too fast, it is easy for some key combinations to get stuck. So Chris Larsen Shoals invented the QWERTY keyboard layout, putting the most commonly used letters in the opposite direction, which slowed down the typing speed of the keys to the maximum extent and avoided the key jam.

Typewriters became more and more popular, so the QWERTY keyboard layout was born and began to rule the western world. At that time, the whole machine was stuck because the common letter keys in continuous typing were too fast. The appearance of this keyboard layout solves this problem probabilistically, although its input efficiency is not the highest.
