III. Contraindications < P > Metoprolol tartrate tablets: significant bradycardia (heart rate <: 45/ min), cardiogenic shock, severe or acute heart failure, poor peripheral circulation perfusion, II or III degree atrioventricular block, sick sinus syndrome, and severe peripheral vascular diseases.

Usage and dosage of metoprolol tartrate tablets
Oral. Dosage should be individualized to avoid bradycardia. The drug should be taken on an empty stomach, and the bioavailability of clometoprolol should be increased by 4% when taking it at meals. Treatment of hypertension: 1 ~ 2 mg at a time, divided into 1 to 2 times. The maximum dose should not exceed 3 mg ~ 4 mg a day.
acute myocardial infarction: it is recommended to use it in the early stage, that is, in the first few hours, because immediate use can reduce the infarct size and short-term (15-day) mortality in patients who have failed to thrombolysis (this effect appears 24 hours after taking the drug). The rate of re-infarction and re-ischemia can be reduced in patients who have been thrombolytic, and the mortality can be reduced if the drug is taken within 2 hours.
general usage: metoprolol can be injected intravenously once 2.5 ~ 5 mg (within 2 minutes), once for 5 minutes, and the total dose for ***3 times is 1 ~ 15 mg. After 15 minutes, take 25 ~ 5mg orally, once every 6 ~ 12h for 24 ~ 48h, and then take 5 ~ 1mg orally once, twice a day.

Metoprolol can be used intravenously when atrial fibrillation occurs in acute myocardial infarction, and the method is the same as above. heart failure: this drug should be used on the basis of anti-heart failure treatment such as digitalis and/or diuretics. 6.25mg at first, 2-3 times a day, and then increase 6.25～12.5mg every few days to once a week, 2-3 times a day according to clinical conditions. The maximum dose can be 5-1mg once, twice a day.
