What is GE China R&D Center?

GE China R&D Center (CTC) is one of the four R&D centers of GE Company in the world. It is an R&D institution across business groups and research fields, providing basic scientific research, new product development, engineering development and procurement services for GE business groups.

Located in Zhangjiang High-tech Park, Shanghai, the center covers an area of 47,000 square meters and was put into use in May 2003. It is one of the largest independent foreign R&D institutions in China and one of the few R&D enterprise centers with basic scientific research capabilities in China.

GE China R&D center has more than 65,438+0,400 R&D employees and more than 60 laboratories with world-class equipment. Its research strength is mainly concentrated in the following areas:

Clean energy, including clean coal, wind power and solar power generation;

Water treatment and seawater desalination;

Materials science, including nano-materials, crystals, ceramics and materials analysis;

Power electronics and real-time control;

Advanced manufacturing technology;

Image technology;

Chemical technology, such as conductive polymer and electrochemical technology;

Sensing and detection technology;

LED lighting;

Transportation, etc.

GE China R&D center completes more than 100 research projects every year. By the end of 2009, GE's R&D employees in China had applied for more than 450 patents.
