The dam was developed by the United States in the 1990s. In 2008, the Ministry of Water Resources established a project to "introduce, absorb, digest, improve, and reinnovate" and included the air shield dam in the national promotion plan. The project was jointly completed by Shenyang Hua University Polymer Materials R&D Center, Jangho Electromechanical and Tieling Erfan Company. In 2012, the first PSRD project in China - Tongnan Heightening Power Generation Project was successfully completed in Tongnan, Sichuan. 1. Water storage: Air shield dam can increase the water storage capacity of the river during the dry/low water season, forming a section of "reservoir", which has very good ecological benefits; well coordinate the relationship between the water diversion capacity of the spillway and the reservoir water storage level, increase the water storage capacity of the built reservoir; reduce the policy and financial difficulties caused by increasing the water storage capacity (such as Submergence problem); when the discharge capacity of the existing spillway is insufficient, this dam/gate form is used to maintain the weir crest elevation without affecting the reservoir's water storage level and power generation benefits.
2. Landscape: The overflow at the top of the dam will form a waterfall. Landscape lights and speakers can be installed on the PSRD to create a good night view and a pleasant environment.
3. Irrigation: The water level and diversion flow of irrigation channels can be accurately controlled; when the channel flow changes, the water level in front of the water diversion building can be automatically controlled to ensure the uniformity of water distribution.
4. Water diversion and flood relief: It can be applied to the flood diversion work of rivers to automatically adjust the water flow; during flood periods, it can automatically control the upstream water level to keep it low, and use the flood to carry away the upstream water. 7. Protection of roads and garages: PSRD can be installed at garages and subway entrances to prevent heavy rain and floods from entering; it can also be installed in gaps in flood control embankments to close them immediately when floods come.

Navigation: PSRD is an ideal form of upstream and downstream ship lock gates, which can accurately control the upstream and downstream water levels; when the dam collapses, the steel plate is covered with a rubber airbag to ensure the smooth passage of the ship; reducing complex The gate opening and closing system is flexible and easy to operate; reducing the construction and maintenance costs of the ship lock.
Structure Introduction
The air shield dam consists of: dam body (rubber air bag + steel shield), anchors, pneumatic system, automatic control system and pipelines.
1. Dam body
The rubber airbag is composed of multi-layer skeleton fiber materials and rubber materials. The fiber material can be polyester, nylon, aramid or steel wire; the rubber material is divided into three layers: the outer rubber is ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) with excellent weather resistance, and the middle rubber is a combination of chloroprene and natural rubber with good adhesion. Rubber (CR+NR), the inner rubber is modified butyl rubber with excellent air tightness. Steel shields (including pier plates) can be made of carbon steel (zinc + paint anti-corrosion treatment required), 304 stainless steel or 316L stainless steel according to application requirements. The pressure resistance design of the airbag should be more than 8 times the operating pressure (safety factor). The service life of air bags should exceed 50 years.
2. Anchors
Including: embedded bolts and positioning metal structural parts, fastening bolts and positioning metal structural parts. The materials can be carbon steel (zinc + paint anti-corrosion treatment is required), 304 stainless steel or 316L stainless steel. Its size specifications and shape should meet engineering and design requirements.
3. Pneumatic system

4. Automatic control system and pipelines
