Candidates discharged from active service in the army are given priority in admission under the same conditions as other candidates. Children of soldiers who died in the line of duty in disabled soldiers, children of first-class to fourth-class disabled soldiers, children of servicemen stationed in counties (cities) in border areas, desert areas and remote areas determined by the state, and children of special, first-class and second-class island troops determined by the army are admitted to institutions of higher learning under the same conditions as other candidates. Children of disabled people's policemen, children of people's policemen who died in the line of duty, and children of people's policemen with disabilities from grade one to grade four apply for admission to institutions of higher learning, and priority is given to admission under the same conditions as other candidates. Ethnic minority candidates scattered in Han areas are given priority in admission under the same conditions as Han candidates.
