New Nissan X-Trail renderings released, may add 1.3T power

The current X-Trail has been in service for several years, and now it will also undergo a replacement.

In March, some media exposed the patent drawings of the new X-Trail, letting us know more information. At this time, foreign media, keen on speculation, drew a set of renderings of the new X-Trail.

Compared with the models currently on sale, the side profile of the new X-Trail remains almost unchanged, but the back has undergone major changes. The rear quarter windows have a more angular shape, and there's a trim strip on the hatchback near the D-pillar, giving the cabin a chunkier look. However, the new headlight set adopts a split design, with daytime running lights on the top and high and low beam lights on the bottom. In addition, according to the renderings, it can also be seen that it may adopt a two-color body design.

The design of the new SUV may no longer be a secret, but what's hiding under the hood remains unknown for now. In the United States, the current Rogue is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 170 hp (127 kW) and is connected to a CVT for use by the front wheels or all four. In Europe, the X-Trail is available with a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.7-liter dCi diesel engine. In addition, according to our understanding, Dongfeng Nissan is preparing to introduce 1.3T power to domestic models. It is expected that the new domestically produced X-Trail is likely to add 1.3T turbocharged power in the future.
