MotorSich (referred to as "Sich Company") is located in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. It is a world-renowned engine manufacturer that mainly provides power systems for fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. As early as the Soviet period, its products were exported to more than 90 countries, and it was known as the "heart of the Soviet aviation industry." In 2008, Motorsic's export volume was US$160 million, accounting for 50% of Ukraine's total aviation product exports.
Since entering the new century, Ukraine’s aviation industry has been struggling between the United States, Europe and Russia, with its total output value accounting for only 0.1% of the world’s. Boguslaev, general manager of Motor Sich, pointed out that the company spends about 18 million U.S. dollars on the research and development of new engines every year, and the funding gap is growing; if necessary, to ensure its own survival, Motor Sich may All funds will be invested in a key project, which is to provide engines for China's L-15 trainer aircraft.
In addition, Motorsich is still providing engines for Russian strategic cruise missiles - despite the political discord between Russia and Ukraine, the two sides still have a lot of economic cooperation.
