Hunan Institute of Technology is located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. It is a provincial-level public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education in 2007 and merged from Hunan Institute of Building Materials and Hunan University Hengyang Branch. On March 20 10, Hunan industrial technology workers college was merged as a whole. It is the youngest undergraduate college in China to implement the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", and the construction unit awarded the master's degree in Hunan Province.
