Introduction to chlor-alkali ion membrane

Chlor-alkali ion membrane, also known as perfluorinated ion membrane, is the core technical material in exchange membrane fuel cells and chlor-alkali industry. But the chlor-alkali ion membranes used in exchange membrane fuel cells and the chlor-alkali industry are not the same.

Chlor-alkali ion membrane is a special cation selective permeation membrane, mainly used in the chlor-alkali industry. Before June 30, 2010, only a few companies in the world, such as DuPont of the United States and Asahi Kasei of Japan, had this technology, and they imposed a technology blockade on other countries, forming a monopoly in the world. The price was expensive, with the import price per square meter being nearly 10,000 yuan.

After eight years of scientific research, on June 30, 2010, Shandong Dongyue Group’s 100 domestically produced perfluorinated ion membrane was successfully powered on for the first time in a 10,000-ton chlor-alkali plant, breaking the U.S. and Japan has long had a monopoly on the technology. It marks that my country has become the third country in the world to possess the core technology and production capacity of chlor-alkali ion membranes; at the same time, my country's independently developed chlor-alkali ion membrane for exchange membrane fuel cells has also been launched by Dongyue Group, making my country the second country that can independently develop chlor-alkali ion membranes for exchange membrane fuel cells. A country that develops and produces chlor-alkali ion membranes for exchange membrane fuel cells.
