Nanjing University of Technology, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is the first vocational education school with the word "occupation" in the history of education in China. Its predecessor was the Chinese Vocational School founded in 19 18 by Mr. Huang Yanpei, a modern democratic revolutionary, social activist and educator in China. Following Shanghai Machinery School (1952- 1960) and Nanjing Electromechanical School (1960- 1999), it was upgraded to a full-time ordinary college in June, 1999, and was renamed Nanjing Institute of Industrial Technology, 2008.
