How many kinds of buses are there in Hong Kong? Price?

There are three types of buses in Hong Kong: franchised buses, non-franchised buses and minibuses.

Generally, franchised buses and minibuses are used. At present, there are four franchised bus companies in Hong Kong:

Kowloon Bus Company (mainly engaged in Kowloon, New Territories and a small amount of Hong Kong Island)

Longyun Bus is a subsidiary of Kowloon Bus Company, which mainly operates routes between the airport, Disney and urban areas.

City bus company (mainly engaged in Hong Kong Island and northwest New Territories, and also engaged in airport line and Disney sightseeing line)

New World Bus Company (operating Hong Kong Island Line)

Lantau bus company (mainly engaged in Lantau routes, such as Ngong Ping, Tai O and Mui Wo)

A minibus is what Hong Kong people call a minibus or 16, which is divided into a red minibus and a green minibus. Green minibuses are basically similar to buses, with fixed routes and getting on and off points. Red minibuses are relatively more flexible.

Most buses or minibuses take Octopus cards and pay in cash, but most of them have no change, so it is better to bring your own change.

Some bus and minibus lines are charged in sections. Please ask the driver before getting on.

The fare depends on the length of the line of sight, generally between 4 yuan and 20 yuan.
