1. Criteria for determining meritorious service
(1) Providing important clues to solve other cases, which are verified by investigation; Stop others from criminal activities; To assist the judicial organs in arresting other criminal suspects (including accomplices);
(2) Those who have other outstanding performances that are beneficial to the country and society (such as obtaining invention patents during their detention or actively participating in emergency rescue and disaster relief in case of sudden major natural disasters) shall be deemed to have rendered meritorious service.
II. Significant meritorious service:
(1) Criminals have reported and exposed other people's major criminal acts, which have been verified through investigation;
(2) providing important clues to solve other major cases, which are verified by investigation;
(3) preventing others from committing major criminal activities; Assisting judicial organs in arresting other major criminal suspects (including accomplices)
(4) Those who have made other significant contributions to the country and society shall be deemed to have made significant meritorious service. The criteria of "major crime", "major case" and "major criminal suspect" generally refer to the situation that the criminal suspect or defendant may be sentenced to life imprisonment or more, or the case has great influence in this province, autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government or the whole country. Those who have rendered meritorious service may be given a lighter or mitigated punishment; Those who have made significant meritorious service may be mitigated or exempted from punishment.
