Cyprus invention patent?
To apply for an invention patent in Cyprus, you need to submit the application documents in Greek, English and Turkish, among which the English application materials are used to submit the retrieval request to the European Patent Office, and the required application documents include the request, specification, claims, drawings and abstract (no more than 15 words). Cyprus authorities only conduct formal examination of invention patent applications. After the applicant pays the relevant fees, the Patent Registration Department (DRCOR) will submit the English version of the application to the European Patent Office for patentability evaluation (the time usually takes 3 to 6 months). After 18 months from the filing date (priority date if there is one), the patent application shall be made public together with the search report. If the applicant submits a written application, it may be made public in advance. If the application meets the formal requirements, and the applicant has submitted the search report as required and paid the relevant fees, the Patent Office shall approve the application.
