HDR(High-DynamicRange image) is a technology to achieve greater exposure dynamic range (light-dark difference) and make dark scenes brighter. Compared with ordinary images, HDR images enhance the contrast of screen display, make black darker and white whiter, make the screen hold more details, and the color is realistic to the real perception of human eyes, which can better reflect the visual effects in the real environment. As shown in the figure below, compared with the SDR on the left, HDR video has better bright and dark details, so the effect is more realistic and natural. HDRVivid standard is an important basic standard in the field of ultra-high definition video in China, which was released by CUVA (China Ultra HD Video Industry Alliance) in September, 22. Different from the mainstream HDR standards in the market (such as HDR1, DolbyVision, HDR1+, etc.), they are all formulated by overseas enterprises or standardization organizations, and there are some problems between standards, such as poor compatibility, uneven product display effect and high cost of licensing some technical patents. HDRVivid standard is a Chinese scheme in the field of HDR technology and has independent intellectual property rights.
