Beautiful Ice City, my hometown, I love you
Every time I get on the train leaving my hometown, my tears will flow down involuntarily, so I dare not Looking back at my mother's face. Before I left, I fully hoped that she would give me a surprising compliment! But I know that my mother will always watch me silently until she is no longer visible...
I never thought that my hometown would become a city that some people would envy. It’s a small town, and I realized that so many people like the city where I live.
All the wonderful things about Harbin depend on how you taste and understand it. If you really live here, you might not want to leave.
I have lived in this city for more than 20 years. I dare not say that I already know Harbin. But I want to write the following words to give to my friends or people who have never been to Harbin.
Clothes
It is said that the girls in Harbin are beautiful. As a Shandong native, I have some unspeakable jealousy.
But it is well-deserved. Maybe it’s because of the water of Songhua River that Harbin girls are tall and have pink skin. They catch everyone’s attention when they walk casually on the street. The boys from Harbin are more "handsome", all tall and strong, with absolute northern masculinity.
Friends who have just arrived in Harbin will go to the Songhua River in summer, which is what we call the riverside, and their eyes will be dazzled. Riverbank beach cruises are full of colors all over the world. In the early 1980s, a Harbin girl's "Braj" was quietly swinging along the river. Later, I saw the "flooding" year after year - the latest and most fashionable clothes in Hong Kong and Guangzhou were flying straight to Harbin. Today's Songhua River is even more beautiful. Jiangnan is a bustling city, Jiangbei is about to be built, Sun Island is located here, and there are more than a dozen new universities here.
In the ice and snow, the girl from Harbin looks stunning. Wearing a long woolen skirt, short boots and a bright long coat, she looks slim and slim, even more southern than the south. The scarf is also tied in a unique way. A square silk scarf can be wrapped in different ways: covering one side of the hair, crossing the two corners diagonally, and tying a knot on one side of the neck - this kind of I dare say you can't find this method in other cities. It is a patent of Harbin people.
Middle-aged and above women in Harbin love to wear cheongsam. This place is supposed to be the birthplace of cheongsam, so whether it is silk, woolen or fabric, long sleeves with low slits or sleeveless with high slits, as long as a Harbin woman wears it, it will look smooth and authentic. Hui, it seems that cheongsam belongs to Harbin.
The pride of Harbin men is mainly reflected on the top of their heads. Enjoy one thing in the world: hats. In the past few years, berets were popular, woven with wool and cut from various fabrics - women put a lot of thought into men's heads. In recent years, the Russian top hat has become popular or "restoration". It is made of high-quality woolen fabric, wide brimmed, and decorated with various colored ribbons. When paired with a thick woolen long coat, it really looks like a gentleman.
Food
Generally speaking, the most unflattering thing is food. The roughness, scarcity, randomness and simplicity of daily meals are often the topic of venting dissatisfaction.
All my classmates who have lived in Harbin for a long time said to me: For example, if you don’t put green onion in the pot for cooking, the food will not taste good; if you eat dumplings without minced garlic, it is not eating dumplings; if you drink wine without mixing cold dishes, , the wine is tasteless.
Harbin red sausage is a common cold dish on the dining table of Harbin families. The outside of the red sausage is wrinkled like tree bark, but when cut it is fresh and tender pink, dotted with a little bit of snow-white gelatin; the dry sausage is as thin as a finger, with a very strange smell, tough and hard, but the lingering fragrance fills the mouth and leaves an endless aftertaste. .
Harbin’s pickled cucumbers are extremely authentic. There must be pickled onions, mustard seeds and a few unknown leaves in the can, making it sour and crispy when you take a bite. The roasted chicken is also very delicious, and the appearance is burnt and shiny, and the image is quite good. There is also bread to go with the meal, authentic Russian "big leba", one weighing five kilograms.
There is a Chinese cold dish among Harbin cold dishes, which is my favorite Northeastern dish.
For cold dishes, fresh shredded Chinese cabbage, shredded carrots and dried tofu are used in winter. In summer, shredded cucumber, pink skin and green pepper are used. Thinly shredded pork is stir-fried, and then topped with minced onion, ginger, garlic, chili, soy sauce and vinegar.
In recent years, Harbin's mutton-shabu-shabu has become increasingly popular, and Harbin is known as "eating pot". The pot is also different from other places. There must be a crab at the bottom of the pot. Whether the crab is fresh or not is another matter. Then the mutton, pork, and beef are all served "in one pot." If there are squid, pork liver, clams, and other fresh things from all over the world, the more the merrier, everyone will be welcome. The complex and diverse flavors of its soup can be called the original "Harbin soup", which fully reflects the eclectic and well-rounded tastes and tolerance of Harbin people.
Live
When I was still in school, I would walk through many places in the streets and back streets by myself on Sundays or holidays. Whether it’s winter or summer, whether it’s those large ocher-red “onion-top” dome buildings, the Byzantine Orthodox churches, or the toy-like villas of various shapes on Sun Island, or the smooth gravel road of Central Street, they all make me deeply moved. Deep into the fascination.
However, what attracts me more are the ordinary Russian-style houses along the street - green wooden fences, a short lilac or cherry tree, and the faintly exposed carved wood. Eaves, painted doorways and balconies...
These exquisite small buildings may have changed owners several times over the years, and most of Harbin's citizens have moved into apartment buildings.
