Company development history

In 1978, China introduced a 3 million square meter/year synthetic leather production line, and at the same time introduced an isocyanate (MDI) device with an annual output of 10,000 tons.

In 1983, Wanhua Chemical’s MDI production line with an annual output of 10,000 tons was successfully put into operation.

In 1998, Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd. was restructured and established.

In 2001, Wanhua Chemical was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, stock code: 600309.

In 2003, the construction of a 160,000-ton/year MDI project began in Ningbo Daxie.

In 2004, Wanhua became the first company in the domestic chemical industry to introduce the DuPont safety management system from the United States, and strictly proposed the HSE goal of "zero harm, zero accidents, zero emissions, and building a garden-style factory".

In 2005, Ningbo's 160,000 tons/year MDI plant was successfully put into operation at one time. During the same period, Wanhua established branches and offices in the Middle East, Russia, Japan, the United States, and Europe to implement global layout.

In 2010, Wanhua Ningbo Industrial Park Phase II 300,000 tons/year MDI device and supporting engineering project was successfully commissioned.

In 2011, Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park started construction.

In 2013, Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd. changed its name to Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd.
