Reasons for the incident
Since Huawei has already laid out its presence in the U.S. market, and more importantly, its leadership in 5G technology, Verizon has been away from the U.S. market for a long time. In June 2019, Huawei requested more than US$1 billion in patent fees from Verizon. The following year, negotiations broke down and Huawei filed a lawsuit, while Verizon filed a countersuit against Huawei, accusing it of infringing on its patents.
