PEEK resin has good friction resistance and mechanical properties in automobile industry. PEEK resin, as a raw material for manufacturing engine inner cover, is widely used in bearings, gaskets, seals, clutch gear rings and other parts in automobile transmission, braking and air conditioning systems.
PEEK resin is an ideal electrical insulator, which can still maintain good electrical insulation performance under harsh working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and high humidity. Therefore, the field of electronic information has gradually become the second largest application field of PEEK resin, making pipes, valves and pumps for transporting ultra-pure water. In the semiconductor industry, it is usually used to manufacture wafer carriers, electronic insulating diaphragms and various connecting devices. PEEK, as a semi-crystalline engineering plastic, is almost insoluble in all solvents except concentrated sulfuric acid, so it is often used to make compressor valve plates, piston rings, seals and various chemical pump bodies and valve parts.
PEEK resin can also withstand 3000 times 134℃ autoclaving cycle, which makes it suitable for producing surgical and dental equipment with high sterilization requirements and repeated use. Polyether ether ketone not only has the advantages of light weight, non-toxicity and corrosion resistance. It is also the closest material to human skeleton at present, and can be organically combined with human body. Therefore, it is another important application in the medical field to make human bones with PEEK resin instead of metal. PEEK resin, which developed rapidly in China, was developed by the former ICI company in the late 1970s. Since its inception, it has been regarded as an important strategic defense and military material, and many countries have restricted its export.
