In-depth analysis: Is it e-commerce or high rent that destroys the "real economy"?

From time to time, I can see people criticizing e-commerce on the Internet for hindering the development of the country, being harmful and hidden, and doing more harm than good. The arguments refuted by these people are nothing more than these categories, and none of them hold water.

1. If e-commerce is so good, why not develop it abroad?

2. E-commerce destroyed the real economy and hindered its development.

There are many fake and inferior products on the Internet.

4. Concentrate wealth in the hands of a few people.

For the first point, I believe many people call abroad, and the target is the United States. From the perspective of the most representative e-commerce companies in China and the United States, let's first look at what kind of companies Amazon and Ali are.

Amazon, the largest online e-commerce company in the United States, has become the world's online retailer with the largest variety of goods and the second largest Internet company.

Second, look at several sets of data:

The population of the United States is about 326 million. From February 20 18 to June 20 19, the total number of people visiting Amazon's website (including desktop and mobile) was 2.63 billion. Statista data shows that from 2065438 to March 2009, Amazon app became the main shopping app in the United States, with 65438+452 million active mobile users. Amazon.com alone has more than 300 million active users.

The population of China is about 65.438+400 million. By the end of June 2020, the number of China users of Alibaba Group and Ant Group was 654.38+007 million.

In terms of operating income and GDP, Ali is only equivalent to Amazon's level of 20 14 years. Is this what you said about not developing e-commerce abroad? And this has little to do with whether foreign countries can develop anything. Different countries have different national conditions, different cultural attributes and different cultural environments, and they are not developed vigorously by foreign countries. We must develop vigorously, not to mention that we can't have what foreign countries don't have, or that we can't innovate and always follow others, then we will always be subject to others.

Regarding the second point, in the eyes of these people, the so-called real economy is a physical store. There is really nothing to say about treating a physical store as a real economy. Physical stores, like the internet, are just a sales channel for goods, and they represent nothing except high rents and operating costs. This makes the goods have to be sold at a higher price, and the price of physical stores will generally be 300% or even higher than the purchase price. It should be difficult to make money below this price.

Why is the development of e-commerce getting stronger and stronger after the emergence of online shopping? Why do more and more people choose online shopping after the emergence of online shopping? Because this is the consumer's choice, the network just adds a commodity sales channel and gives consumers one more choice. For example, there used to be only one restaurant in one place, and everyone went to this restaurant to eat. Now there is a new noodle restaurant next to it. Everyone found that noodles are also delicious, and more people chose to eat noodles. As a result, the restaurant owner was unwilling and pulled a group of people to smash other people's noodle restaurants. What rogue logic is this?

Regarding the third point, we must first understand how fake and shoddy products come from. Fake and shoddy products are not products after e-commerce, and they will not be less than now. Rural policy, market environment and cultural background are decisive factors, not sales channels. Sanlu milk powder, white wine plasticizer, water-injected pork and 40-day-old duck, which is produced by e-commerce? Only by strict market supervision, restraining the source of production through legal means, and making those who are opportunistic and unscrupulous for the sake of profit afraid, can the problem be fundamentally solved.

Regarding the fourth point, some people say that physical stores can solve the employment problem of more people, or that the number of individual industrial and commercial households in physical stores will increase, which will increase a number of middle-income people. However, the number of middle-income people will not be reduced because of the reduction of physical stores. These people will also exist in other forms in other industries. The previous reform of state-owned enterprises was also opposed by many people, but time has proved its correctness. As for the gap between the rich and the poor, or the concentration of wealth, no man-made economic system or social law can change it, because it is a natural law, and the number of lions on the grassland will never exceed the number of sheep.

According to the statistical yearbook of China in 2000 and 2003, the number of employees in state-owned units did not change much in 1995- 1997, which were 10955 million, 10949 million and 10766 million respectively. However, from 1998, the number of people began to plummet:1998,809,000; 1999,8336,000; By 2002, this number had dropped to 69.24 million. In the past six years, the number of employees in state-owned units has decreased by nearly 40 million, most of which is due to the wave of layoffs. At the same time, the number of employees in urban collective units also showed a sharp downward trend, from 30.76 million in 1995 to 107 1 10,000 in 2002, a decrease of 20 million. Most of these people should live better than before, not worse.

At all times and all over the world, with the progress of the times, every major change will always encounter some resistance, and there will inevitably be some people who hold objections, which are nothing more than three kinds of people:

Those who get the first benefit benefit from the previous social rules. Of course, they don't want anyone to break this balance and win the fruits of their victory. People who can't adapt to the new rules of the game are bound to fall behind others.

The second kind of conservatives, because of the uncertainty of change and fear of the future, just want to live a stable life in the present environment.

The third kind of thoughtless person, who has no independent thinking ability, always likes to wave the flag and shout at the instigation of others, and may not know why he does it.

With the appearance of digital cameras, film has withdrawn from the historical stage; With the emergence of mobile phones, BP machines have withdrawn from the market; With the emergence of smart phones, the function machine has completed its mission. The rise of Apple's mobile phone witnessed the decline of Nokia and changed people's lifestyle. History has proved countless times that those who try to stop the wheel of history eventually fall under the rolling wheel of history.
